In a class I heard from the coach: “it's not the lines that define the circumstances. It is the circumstances that define the lines. “

It was a class about range.

What makes a decision great is not that it has a great outcome. - Annie Duke

It's a great remind when you lose a big hand, but you played correctly. It's better to lose on a hand you "should have won" according to the math than win big calling with crap you shouldn't have. That will bring you more success in the long run.

“People think mastering skill is the hard part of poker — it isn’t. The real challenge is mastering your relationship with luck.”
For me, poker isn’t about controlling outcomes, but controlling reactions. Skill shows over time; luck just tests your discipline in the moment.

That is a very interesting perspective. Mastering luck is basically another way of saying you need to master your mindset during variance. One of my favorite quotes is from Doyle Brunson: Poker is a hard way to make an easy living. It perfectly sums up the professional side of the game.

"People think mastering the skill is the hard part, but they're wrong....The trick to poker is mastering the luck"

just wondering if anyone else has some good quotes...
just leave me a messages if ya will....telling me how u like or not like my quote.
A chip and a chair! Is so true but you have to have the mind set in order to achieve it. imo, just did it last week.

I was down to 5 chips, the next few hands dbld up. Played very aggressively until I had a respectable stack. It was a freeroll with 1350 starting players. Made it to the money, I think it paid 199 cant remember. By the time I made it to final table I was the smallest stack. Built it up to chip leader with 5 left, the next few hands felt like magic. It's an incredible feeling when everything falls into place and won the tournament! I wish it could always be this way!🤑 ok it was 5 chips and a virtual chair but it's close enough.

"Poker players are some of the most delusional people on the planet. . . . For every mistake we make at the poker table, there is an equal and opposite rationalization to explain it away. And when all else fails we can blame bad luck." -- Barbara Conners
