Ya, Doyle Brunson moves more currency in an hour of poker than I make in a year at my job. Basically, if someone puts a live straddle on, I am de facto all in.

I don't play high stakes. I play mostly 100NL and 200NL. I've never had more than $700 in my account, and never deposited more than $100 at a time. My rakeback for Doyle's Room last month was about $25-$30 per week.

And, yes....no note. I asked all of my freinds and none of them are responsible.

It is odd that there just isnt any note or explanation given in the box.

you play 200NL with a 700$ BR? if you're ok with depositing, nvm this post, but else you might want to rethink your br management

Nice gift. Personally I didn't find much of the information very useful in either of those books but I'm a poker book addict and always add to the collection. Signed Hardcovers... nice addition!!!

I wouldnt call it a "bankroll" at this time...i would call it a budget. I am prepared to invest a certain amount weekly that I can afford to lose. I just cannot get into playing micro stakes...it isnt any fun for me, and...if i am not enjoying my poker playing experience, then why play?

Lol, sometimes companies just send stuff out on accident. A few motnhs ago I got a computer case from a internet computer store although I had recieved the one I ordered half a year ago.

I did see somewhere that you can get super system books by playing, I guess you just backed up into that promo by accident :D

Yeah nothing wrong with playing for fun. After all if you're not getting satisfaction from your hobby then you can't really call it a hobby. I was just worried you might not be familiar with the concept.

I remember playing in something in July that had as an extra prize those two books. for up to 6 places i think it was, maybe you were in that. I did not find the 2nd book to be too enlightening, I am afraid to buy the first for fear that it will be the same. Lets face it, very little of the info is actually written by Doyle and none of it is in depth. Hmmm, might be worth a new post

Hmm...ok, i suppose these gifts are rake related. They are autographed too. Very nice actually...

What do you think are the odds that poker stars might send me Vanessa Rousso?

You need to accumulate 1.000.000.000 IYD (in your dreams) points to 'unlock' the full Vanessa Rousso package.

My vote is go for it, LeanAndMean. I have both the SS and SS2 books. While they certainly cover a lot of ground, I've always had the sense that the strategies described apply more to high stakes players than those of us who play lower stakes. I'd really be interested in hearing other opinions.

This reminds me of an old school friend who sent an Email to the KKK saying that they werent terribly nice people and a fortnight or so later he received a box of free pornography.

Needless to say, he saw past the intended insult.....

Though the paperbacks and $50 is a good offer (I have read super system 1 and 2 on .pdf)...autographed hard cover versions of these books are like getting the bible signed by Jesus.

I just read my above post...and, it sounds like I am trying to get more money for the books. I am not selling them..for me they have that "collectors value"...so, i really dont want to sell them...i wouldnt want my above post to be misinterpreted as a "raise".

Many people would be hoping Doyle would feel sorry for them too if this was the outcome.
