I have taken a very long break from playing poker. I believe it has been since i was 23 or 24 and now i have a decade of experience in the real world under my belt.
My main question is how many people have sucked so badly at poker that they quit, then found a good community and wanted to study and get better at the leaks in your game.
Before in my 20s I never really focused on ranges, putting people on hands, and bankroll management. Now I have a solid grasp on all of these basic skills as well as aggressive betting and playing almost any hand in late position as well as early and making good decisions. I'm seeing my first deposit last longer than any used to and really making some good calls and taking some good lines on bluffs instead of just deciding to shove to get someone off something when i haven't represented anything worthy to get the fold. I'm really excited to see where the journey takes me this time as i believe I could supplement my income on the road when I have less work or when I am unable to make money with my main gig.
With all the love,
Marshall
