The usual culprit for this ugly transformation is a bad beat. From the lowliest fish to the loftiest pros, from the mundane “that’s poker” beats to the soul-crushing, two-outer suckouts, bad beats are an inescapable part of the game. Which is precisely why they are such a common tilt trigger and why you must be able to deal with them emotionally.

I try to walk it off quick and focus on the next hand or game. Try not to get upset with how others play, in the long run when they play bad, you will out play them and make the most of it off them.:):):)

The more I need the prizes and the longer the tournament, the bigger my tilt.

Tilt gets easier to deal with the more you play. the first time you lose aces vs. 78 suited you get pretty pissed. but that's because you see the short term results only. if the hands that were supposed to win always won, poker wouldn't be fun. but just take a deep breath and realize that when you get it in good, you made the right play and that if you do that enough you will win money over the plebs

Going on Tilt

When i get a bad beat, i either swallow the anger or i let it show. It depends on my mood that day, but when I'm really angry, i take a short break and collect my thoughts. BUT THE BEST WAY TO GET OVER A BAD BEAT on online poker is by taking a break and looking for something to make me laugh, like watch family guy or anything you can possibly think of that will make you laugh and get your mind off of that last hand.

Depends on what I'm playing

If it's cash and I do not have an interesting stack at the table, I'm leaving.

If I am still in a tournament I will not let it bother me or my play.
I might throw a few jabs at the other player but all in all its just a game. Poker can be hard to deal with at times.
I try to make positives of it and learn to improve from the situation instead of letting it affect my play.
bad beats happen no way to avoid em.

I make a break from the game. Sometimes I leave for lower limits. IIf bad bits repeat, then for today I leave game, till the best times. I try not to give vent to emotions and that belongs to such periods, as to what inevitable.

I like you EvertonGirl...you'd be welcome at my home table anytime...even though yer a blue (note I didn't call you bitter blue....lol).

Yeah whilst I go for a walk I gather my thoughts, replay the hand etc. had to do that last night after a bad beat, or so I thought, then realised I'd actually made a bad call....i flopped k flush, but got rivered by A flush....fter 3 betting which annoyed me, but he raised my river bet so should have known / could have worked it out...and I should have been stronger post flop....which usually I am....gggrrrr.....lol

Thanks for your input...

I would think that playing tilt but it's just an outpouring of games, you can not expect to win, poker is much different
