It serves as a tool for studying quick decision-making...game theory is still fantastic...

I'm on this forum for 5+ years I think , last two years I didn't played poker at all because I got employed.... also cardschat didn't had PokerStars freerolls anymore and that had a huge impact on letting go of poker, I have night shifts now and I can play on GGPoker now and I wanna get my platinum level back. I don't know if the players I played 2 years ago are still here playing , I would love to find out soon !

When I started playing poker, it interfered with my work because I often played at night and didn't get enough sleep. Now I've cooled off a bit, playing very little and very rarely.

Maybe it's because I've never been good at doing multiple things at the same time, I've always liked to focus on one 'task' at a time, while also making schedules for the day/week/month and different targets I want to archive... So I've never played poker at work and also when I'm playing my poker sessions I like to focus only on poker and leave other things aside...

It's quite difficult to combine poker and work. I only play after work, in the evenings. It's quite difficult to find a balance, but it's possible if you're able to plan everything well.

I usually organize myself so I can play without it interfering with my work; I play more on weekends so it doesn't affect my work.

Poker helps me relax after work without leaving home. It's a convenient and even profitable hobby. Poker has no negative effect on my main job. On the contrary, poker allows me to distract myself and switch gears from work issues.

I play poker after work. During work, if I have a free hour, I can play cash games. There is no negative impact. It's just one way to have fun and take my mind off things.

Playing poker doesn't affect my job because I don't have one right now. We're at war, so I have to be at home playing poker in different places.

It doesn’t haha work life and poker have to be kept separate if poker is taking over your life and you feel the need to do it at work you should probably call the gambling help line

For me it’s been a mix of both positive and negative. Early on, poker was definitely a distraction and I had to be careful not to let it affect my focus or sleep. Over time though, I learned to manage it better. Poker actually helped me improve decision-making, patience, and handling pressure — skills that translate well to work. The key for me was setting clear boundaries and not playing during work hours.

Very little free time lately and there always seems to be something in the way of having 2-3 hours free to spend in a tournament, so no effect at all on work right now.

Poker doesn't affect my main job in any way, and sometimes I participate in a tournament right at work.

Poker has both positive and negative effects on work, acting as both a brain trainer and a serious emotional load. It's very difficult to manage time between poker and real life. You have to work harder on your game, get better sleep, be in good concentration and shape.

I can play mostly on weekends and sometimes its hard to play tournaments on Sunday evening when you have to wake up really early on the next day.

When I started playing poker, I would spend a good part of the night playing, so I would wake up the next day very tired. This lasted for a while, until I started organizing my schedule so it wouldn't affect my work.

It doesn't affect me at all. I only play poker when I'm well-rested enough that it doesn't interfere with the rest of my social life. Besides, I control how much of my salary I spend on poker.

I only work part-time. Most of the time I actually do housework. Poker doesn't affect my work, but it does affect my household somewhat. Sometimes I put off housework for the sake of playing. It's probably not very good, but it's not critical
