Sometimes I play for two or three days for 10-16 hours, sometimes I don't play at all and live my normal life.

2-4 hours max—any longer and fatigue kills your edge.

If someone plays poker professionally, I think the ideal is to play about 8 hours a day and choose one or two days a week to rest, which could be Saturday, Sunday or a holiday, depending on the tournament days they participate in. However, if someone plays recreationally and does not have poker as their main source of income and has a job, it is advisable to play no more than 4 hours on the days they play, and not every day. It can be every other day, otherwise it can affect their performance in their professional life and in other areas of their daily social life.

For each person, everything is individual. Someone can play for days, while for others, a couple of hours a day is enough. For me personally, 5 hours a day is the norm.

For me, I used to play for more than 8 hours a day. Now I play for 2 hours a day, but on weekends I play for longer.

The recommended number of hours to play poker per day depends on your experience level, mental endurance, and whether you're playing professionally or recreationally. For most players, 4–6 focused hours a day is ideal to maintain concentration and decision-making quality. Professionals might stretch to 8+ hours, especially during tournaments, but even they benefit from breaks to avoid fatigue and tilt. Quality is more important than quantity — it’s better to play fewer hours at peak focus than grind long sessions while mentally drained. Listen to your mind and body, and prioritize regular breaks and rest.

Depending on the endurance and if it doesn't harm you from having life outside the tables

If you play poker, I recommend keeping records every 30 minutes.
You may start to notice patterns, such as time periods when your win rate is higher, or how your performance drops after playing for long hours.
There should be valuable data that emerges from this.

When you play a tournament, it can take a couple of hours but you can also win a minute. So the time varies.

I think 2–4 hours a day is good for focus and learning. Long sessions can lead to tilt and bad decisions. Quality > quantity.
