I was always very careful with my bankroll, since I started to play since my beginnings I had no losses, but always came out in positive, but always when you want to climb levels there if I got losses of almost 700 dollars in 3 days in a row, that's why I started to study because the level increases.

I don't remember exactly how much I lost the first time, but I think it's about $100. After that, I started studying, playing freerolls, and reading. But I'm still mostly losing, even though I've been playing for a long time.

I actually did not lose one cent the 1st time I played poker. It was a small home game sit and go style game. I actually won my money back that night. Hey it was a nice night and yes, I did not win anything but that's good for a 1st timer.

I actually started playing freerroll, but then if I make several deposits, over time I have cashed in many tournaments, I haven't had a bankroll greater than 500 dollars but I think I have gained a lot of experience.

I don't remember how long ago it was, but I believe it was very recently! I started playing very cheaply.

When I first started playing online, the very first day I played I deposited $175 to Fulltilt & $150 to Stars. It took me the entire day to get a deposit online. (had to first open a Moneybookers account and to do that I had to activate an old phone). I was finally ready to play at ~10:30pm. I looked at the lobby (Tournament Lobby) and saw something that cost $1 so I entered it. I didn't even know it was a large field MTT with close to 1,000 entrants in it.
5.5 hrs. later I placed 2nd in 'The Ferguson' and won $114.00 I was hooked!

tldr: I won

For the next few months I was a losing player (roi -10%) mostly playing SnG's, and thinking I was getting VERY unlucky! That got me to studying & reading lots of books AND joining up to Cardschat (where I discovered so much more about poker). During that time period, playing in the Cardschat games helped me to improve quickly (I was competitive and wanted (needed) to win).

When I first started playing, I played free tournaments and I still didn't know what I had to pay to play poker, I just played and won even after throwing in some money. When I found out that you can play for real money and win money then people didn't know how to play at all

Losing also teaches you something, so the money wasn't thrown away

First time making a $10 deposit. I only lost $9. When I had $1 left, I played a tournament with a total prize of $1000.I was lucky to finish second. The win was $200. After that, I got excited to continue playing.

I got hustled pretty hard at Hooters Casino in vegas. The dude pretended he didn't know much about poker (he actually was a table regular) and took my whole stack ~$200 after letting me snag a couple smaller pots from him before.

It all depends on the opponent you're playing against.

I lost about $5. Of course, it was an unpleasant experience, but nevertheless I realized that I lacked knowledge and experience, and that's why I actually started watching various educational videos on YouTube that same evening. Unfortunately, when I started, I didn't know about our cool community.

Can't remember, but it wasn't much.

I'm quite risk adverse which in many ways means I'm unsuited to poker. I'm working on that.

I made deposits of 20 dollars twice and lost them at low limits, the truth is they play with the whole deck at those levels, you have to know how to adapt to be moderately good and I guess I'm achieving it.
