I got to know poker at a fairly mature age. I was 48 years old. And I think it's good.

I played early on when I was like 20 yrs old but the guy running the home game I learned later on, was cheating his own friends. I lost over 100 classic rock albums to this a hole. He also turned out to be a drug dealer. Turned me off poker for a very long time. I didnt start playing again till I was 45 yrs old and that was playing live poker in Phoenix Arizona.
