If I won a million dollars from poker, I don’t think I’d completely quit—but I
would change how and why I play.
The biggest benefit of a win like that would be
freedom. I wouldn’t feel pressure to grind, chase volume, or play when I’m tired or tilted. Poker would go back to being something I
choose to play, not something I
have to play.
I’d probably:
- Move down in stakes or play selectively
- Focus more on tournaments or formats I genuinely enjoy
- Take longer breaks between sessions
- Spend more time studying and less time grinding
For me, poker isn’t only about money—it’s about problem-solving, psychology, and constant learning. Winning big wouldn’t kill that interest, but it would remove the stress that sometimes comes with it.
So no, I wouldn’t quit poker entirely—but I’d definitely stop treating it like a job and start treating it like a passion again.
