Have you ever lost interest in poker for a while?

Me it is happening right now. I have been in love with poker for the past 10 or so years but lately I feel like hanging my chips aside.... Did you felt like thiis yourself?

Yes!
I myself was away from the game literally for a couple of years in 2023 and 2024 just due to lack of interest for the game!

Sometimes it's a break for a few days or maybe a month or more, but I will keep coming back.

Yes, in fact I have been going through that moment for a couple of years, but I think it has nothing to do with the game itself, in my case when the CC community moved away from Pokerstars to fall back on Replay that I really get away from the tables, it's the changes in habits that really take you away from something you like. I think!

Yep I get it a lot. When I first started playing I loved playing all the time, but obviously even though I loved the game, there will be times I cba to play. Life is sometimes the reason but I always end up getting the itch to play especially after studying 😂

I have occationally taken some time off, but rarely more than a week or two. But if the desire to play is not there, then by all means use your time for something different, weather its for a day or the rest of your life. Not everyone need to play poker :)

Many times I’ve stopped playing for several months, but you always come back, even if it’s just in small amounts. You always return to poker because it’s fun and it allows us to dream of winning a large amount of money if we get lucky once. I think that’s why poker is so popular and why so many people keep insisting on playing it, even though it has a large element of luck as well as skill.

Sure I think that happens to everyone at some point.
But the passion usuall returns :)
I took a break for 7 months which was very beneficial for my mental health and also my game when I started playing again

I also feel like quitting sometimes; poker is very frustrating and tiring. The financial reward has to be very large to make it worthwhile.

Many times.... but i have been playing for 45 years, and the feeling when you win is still what drives me. Sure there are times when you get bored or sad about way things go, but just like in life, chin up and a better day appears.

Been playing for 20+ years and can say poker burnout and losing interest is real been thru it a number of times over the years. Hell last year I didn't even play 10k hands total. So yes it happens. Take a break do another hobby and come back when the urge to play again strikes. I'd say maybe study a bit while on break but I know myself if I want break from playing I also never feel like studying during it as well. The poker tables aren't going anywhere they'll still be here when you come back.

Cheers!!!

My fixation shifts to other things some times which takes away time to play, but I always end up returning to poker after a while.

I think it's great to be able to stop playing for some time, it makes the return sweeter and more enjoyable than ever, that's how it is for me. 😍

Sometimes, yes. Poker requires a great deal of concentration and emotional control. Even if you're playing well, you can lose for months.

It's a very important topic. I'll tell you that I've also been playing poker for many years, and in my years as a player, I've had moments when I've wanted to quit poker for good. I even went a while without playing; it's a stage we've all gone through.

Yes, I’ve been through that as well. I think it’s completely normal to lose interest for a while, especially after playing for many years. Sometimes the best thing to do is take a break, clear your mind, and come back refreshed.

It's normal to lose interest sometimes. Taking a break can reignite your passion and allow you to get back to enjoying the game at your own pace.

Hello everyone, the truth is something that normally happens to any player and is also partly linked to the results, however, you should focus on that little piece that is indecipherable: what the game as such means for everyone, that daily challenge that you are going to face at the tables and that need to want to improve day by day, because when you already have Results, it's not so much about money, it's about wanting to improve, and there is that seed that drives you to play that need to dominate every scene.

I really enjoy playing poker, but I'm a recreational player. I don't make any money out of it and I only play in my free time. So I will occasionally take very log breaks, sometimes a few weeks, sometimes a few months. It all depends how busy I'm at work and in life, or what other activities take up my time. So sometimes I end up having very little time for poker.

not at the moment, but I think it's because I'm relatively new to playing poker (a year and a half I think I've already lost my accounts)
