Or play 6-max where no one ever has anything, much less a set bigger than yours.

ChuckTs said:Jay for the last time, drop the # of tables you play, and play some poker! You're a smart guy, poker isn't that hard to beat.
I'll gladly do some sweats with you; my game is a little in the gutter right now too and I could use some more discussion.
Irexes said:Deconstruct your game back to basics and build it back up piece by piece? I've had to do this a couple of times with my MTT game when things just went wrong somewhere.
Alternatively sacrifice a goat.
Hope it turns round, whatever you do.
combuboom said:agree with this. you can beat the games playing solid, nitty, no-tilting, ABC poker. if things are really going badly for a long time, i think it's a good idea to go back to that, about as basic as you can. stay out of marginal situations. keep things as low-variance as you can. also table select. yes, you're knowingly passing up some potential EV, but the long-term psychological benefits and confidence you'll gain by beating the game again should be worth it.
then gradually incorporate more aggression and advanced plays into your game. when your state of mind is in the dumps you just need to know that you can win again and build from there. i really believe that's the best long-term solution
Jagsti said:Well, before I played yesterday I said to myself this. Just play solid stuff, avoid marginal decisions etc etc. Go back to basics stuff and just ship a winning session/week/month.
Yesterday was totally horrible again. I get like 2 chances to play for stacks in 1300 hands, one was a ridiculous suckout by AA v my Q8 bvb on a QQx flop, and the other hand was set v fl dr standard stuff.
So, yeah I'm trying to go back to 2008 and start winning showdown hands. It's difficult, because I think I convinced myself to adjust my NSD winnings too much and by that I mean getting more aggressive post flop and making some -EV river bluffs. I have tried to eradicate that as much as possible now so we'll se if I can get my **** together.
Thanks for the words of encouragements dudes.
zachvac said:Wow I come back home and figure won't play too long, just get my 200 FTP points and then take rest of the day off. Play for about a half hour to get the points and up 4 buy-ins at 200nl![]()

Tygran said:^ this is normal in a split pot. They can't give you each half a penny so somebody gets one cent more.
They do it simply by position going around the table from the SB..whoever comes first gets the extra penny.
Basically it's a completely impartial and fair way to divvy it up.
orangepeeleo said:Ive played live where the extra 1 euro chip or w/e gets put into the pot for the next hand, i thought that was the norm, never noticed the to the left of the dealer thing before. I wasn't actually angry about this by the way lol Just found it funny that the lucky man lost less cash than me![]()
