If Poker’s not your bread and butter, then playing it every day as far as possible breaks the life’s boring daily routine!
But if Poker’s your main source of income (profession), then it will break you instead, if not played with passion, hard work and dedication (PHD) as I call it! 😋

Breaking aways was not easy for me.
But I did pick up a hobby. I live closer to my family.
And I play mostly to relax now.

We have to admit that most of us in the forum play as a hobby. It’s something we’re passionate about, but it’s not the most important thing in our lives. There are other things that are more important and that we have to deal with every day, even if we don’t want to.

Those responsibilities are usually what take me away from this beautiful game, but I always end up coming back. Sometimes I think it’s better to play when we truly feel like it, rather than forcing ourselves to play just to maintain consistency.

Honestly, I don't play every day and I never have. For me it's just not realistic — and more importantly, I don't think it's healthy.
Poker demands your full mental presence. Not 80%, not 90% — your best self or nothing. And nobody is at their best every single day. Life gets in the way. You're tired, distracted, emotionally off. Sitting down at the table in that state isn't discipline — it's just burning money slowly.
I think there's a romanticized idea of the 'poker grinder' who plays every day, lives and breathes the game, and that somehow equals success. But some of the biggest leaks I've seen in players come from fatigue and routine. When poker becomes a habit rather than a conscious choice, you stop thinking and start going through the motions.
For me, playing less but playing sharp is always better than playing more and playing tired.
Freedom in poker isn't playing every day. Freedom is choosing when you're ready — and having the discipline to close the laptop when you're not.
The guys who burned out playing every day for years will tell you the same thing. 😄

Almost every day I play, there are days when I don't because I have to do other jobs.

I've been playing for over 20 years and I enjoy it almost every day, regardless of whether I win or lose. Poker simply continues to fascinate me.

Freedom depends on whether you control the game or the game controls you. If you play every day, but you play because you want to and not out of obligation, then I think that's freedom.

I dont play every day, i play very rarely lately.
I had periods when i played a lot more, cause i had no other obligations or daily activities.
So it is very easy for me to play as much or as little as my schedule and mood allows. I like that

You don't have to play every day. Play three or four days a week and you'll be happy. I stick to this rule!

Freedom is only when you win, if not it is a disaster
