Not a chance. Our home game guys are all poker and golf buddies. We gamble all the time and have for many years. Never had an issue and at times we play for thousands of dollars. We are like brothers and give each other "the business" but never fight.

Let's start with playing for profit, which most people do:

• Let's say in extreme case you are forced to play heads up against your friend for a money to survive next day, and you obviously don't share any tips regarding your strategy or what you think in various situations. And adding to that you lose.
• Now let's imagine different situation when you never play with your friend at the same table, you just pass each other, and you freely exchange knowledge about various interesting situations that you eoncounter. You have long discussions about topic which interests you both and make you both better in what you are doing. And you make a decent living out of this.
• Now let's imagine situation where you both make a decent profit on other tables and when you play each other you lose some, win some, but this is insignificant portion of your bankroll.
• You are a recreational player losing few bucks here and there, you do this for fun and you don't care.

Now playing for a play money only:

• You have some fun losing some, winning some. You talk, you yell, you swear, you laugh. Then you do it again.
• You don't have fun, because you are losing to the mighty opponent every time. No biggie for a friend, though you just sink down in despair.
