Good morning everyone, I don't think it makes sense to compare poker, which is considered a mental sport, with something so harmful. According to the WHO, tobacco is responsible for more than 8 million deaths per year. How many people die from poker each year?
I don't know anyone addicted to poker. I've been playing poker since 2018, and I'm not addicted.
You mean addiction: someone starts playing poker and can't stop until the money runs out? I've never heard of that.
Many players are profitable, play a few MTTs a day, and then stop playing.
Now, if you're talking about stopping playing or taking a break from playing, then yes, I could be considered addicted. I love playing poker and play every day, and I can't go a day without playing.

I think everyone is different. And what is highly addictive for one person may leave another person completely indifferent.

Smoking is a physical addiction and poker is a mental one! Both are hard to break!

Great question. I'm not a smoker, but I believe it might be very close. 50/50
I cant see myself going a day without playing poker, I believe a smoker would say the also can't go a day without smoking lol
