Having many years of online poker experience - I managed to reduce TILT moments to minimum extent. In the beginning, if I was loosing a nice pot against a dumb call - I used first to take a deep breath and say "OK, that was stupid move - you got lucky this time, but I will go forward!"
After some time of using this method - I even stopped to do the above things. There are now almost no happenings on the felts that are bringing me onto TILT. If there are some dumb bets within CC events - I prefer to say some joke in chat, than to start yelling or irritating the opponent

There's different emotions we can feel after losing in a game of poker. If I picked up KK and ended up vs someone with AA, I would be upset but after a minute or two I would forget and think about the bigger picture.

If my AA gets cracked by 85 offsuit. That's when I tilt and I get the urge to slap the guy. It's hard to control emotions, because emotions are apart of who we are. We can learn how to keep it under control, but we will never "control" emotions. It's just like we can't control cards.

My biggest mistake is when im losing too much i want to return my money immediately. Best way is just make a stop-loss limit. And even if you are not angry but lose your normal limit (depend`s on your strategy ofc, but i recommend to do this when you are already losing 5 buy-ins) just stop, close the poker client and forget about poker for today, or if you can`t, at least wait some time and dont play real-money, try to play freeroll, so you will have a chance to return some of your loss money.
If you can, watch some movie, or make some workout, or just go walk outside.

I agree on most of the ways of how to deal with tilt, except for the 4th. For me, tilt comes when I make a good decision and end up with a bad beat, that frustrates me and annoys me making me go on tilt. If I was to keep doing the right moves and make good decision, and receive one more bad beat while already on tilt, I am afraid my PC could get hurt or something...

IMO, just take a mini break or shake it off. A fellow player once told me to literally shake it off, like shake my hands as if I got a stroke or something. Believe it or not, it kinda worked!

can agree on most of them. the biggest 1 I can add/think/imagine is "just play". When you lose your 1st 80/20 TP>TP you think "ONLINE POKER IS RIGGED!" than you get uused to it. So I belive is true for tilt... just give it some time→play→and if you feel like you need it - take a breather!
The article is good BUT! I do not belive there is a way for some1 to tell YOU how to not get angry. find your way thas the stuff!

I learned how to deal with bad beats and downswings. Just remembering when the opposite occurred and I thought that it was normal.
But I still need to have more discipline to when NOT to play, like when I have my mind focused in another issues not related with poker, when I'm sick, when I have something important to do just after the game or have an appointment later. This things put me distracted and anxious. I just need to learn to wait for a better moment.

I would recomend Everyone What I usually do when I go on tilt for a bad beat
1) Stop Playing if you feel Angry because of that bad beat or cooler one way to know you're on tilt is when you get angry with a player remember this game everyone is free to play their way if they want to 3bet with 72 and the flop come 772 is just poker being itself so if you start to feel angry with the system the faith luck or a player you should stop and take a break eat some candy grab fresh aire whatever you like just take poker out of your mind for a little while...

2) Remember Poker should be Fun! also have fun of yourself coolers are part of the game study variance and know feel happy the way you play the hand without caring about the result as I always say ''I rather lose making the best call/decision/move than winnig making a bad play and poor decicsion''

3) Analysis go through your Bad beats and see them better sometimes you think it was a bad beat but when you see it again maybe you'll find some mistakes and errors in the way you play them

4) and finally acceptance Poker is a game where you'll win on a long term and it is imposible to win everytime as you more play you'll get used to the idea of bad beats and coolers are simply part of the day to day of a poker player

This is actually all what players need to know when starting playing poker, in fact, this is the very first thing to learn, even before studying poker and getting in to this game.
Measure of precautions are essential in every game, sport or hobby you are getting into, it’s like a wearing a helmet before you sit on your bike. Poker is no different from that, even though not every player reacts the same on loosing their money, so what’s important is to get to know yourself and to know your limits, as much as you can.
Personally, like every player, i experience a downswings myself from time to time and i’ll have to agree that taking a break is a good decision to make. It’s a good way to isolate yourself from all the bad things going on at the tables and to keep your bankroll safe as much as you can, and to keep yourself from overwhelming with bad experiences and frustrations.
Technically, i would say that tilt is exactly what makes a difference between a gambler and poker player.

Absolutely agree with you in regard of the right decision made at table. I don't want to go deep into meaning of "right decision" right now, I guess it is customized solution, up close and personal, but it's worth to follow your plan for the game. Do you remember the question - chicken-and-egg? The same i was wondering to know about - river and tilt?)
Tilt, as was said, is psychologic effect and you can overcome the tilt only with relevant feedback. Stop to play. Go to gym. Run. Do something. Occupy your brains with completely opposite things and acts. And the most important aspect is to remember it’s only a poker. ''Hero to zero, zero to Hero'' - it’s only a matter of time, skills and luck, and you lay down the order of priority by yourself.

Something I have found lately with regard to tilt:

You need a quiet and relaxed atmosphere to play your best game and avoid tilt.
I was playing poker last week and I had a lot of background distractions and this only exacerbated my tilt when I lost a couple of big hands.

I feel I can deal with it far better now than a year or so ago.

I played on Pokerstars when some months had close to 100% bad beats. Couldn't win any hand for 2 months. Even those which folded. After such cases you don't have tilt anymore.

I can not say I'm out of control - sad is when it's in the bubble - but do what? but if there is one thing I know from an early age it is: "What I have no control does not take away my peace."
That being said, what makes me bow is; when I have control and I make a mistake. this is what leads me to inclination, because I know that I am the culprit and in my way of seeing things this my inclination is in the right place, because only those who do not blame external forces can evolve.

Thanks for the advices. I just feel that i will never could control myself. I always burn my bankroll in a night. Usually i win several times, then when i think "i´m playing so good" i start to lose. First i have one or two bad beats or coolers, then i start to play out of my bankroll limits or whit many hands and until lose everything.

I try to pay special attention to my psychological and physical state - do not play if I feel tired, do not get enough sleep, or just laziness, because often the game ends up in this state with a tilt caused by my own incompetence in the decisions I make.

it's reaaly a serious problem as for me, good advices, but even for a good psychologically strong player it's hard to deal with it. I'm just burning when smb. do this in my table
