Hi all,
I enjoy tournaments because every stage of the game feels different and interesting.
Cash games are more stable, but tournaments feel more exciting to me.
Do you prefer tournaments or cash games, and why?

MTT, particularly mystery bounty tournaments. I do enjoy the ocassional cash game when I have the money to spare but eliminating players does something for me

I'm more of a tournament player, I only played cash games when there was a rake race somewhere.

Poker offers many different formats, but the two most popular are tournaments and cash games. Each format requires a different strategy and mindset.
Tournament poker is exciting because you start with the same stack as everyone else and try to survive until the final table. The blinds increase over time, which forces players to adapt their strategy constantly.
Cash games, on the other hand, are more stable. The blinds stay the same and every chip has real monetary value. Many players say cash games require more technical discipline.
Personally, I enjoy tournaments more because of the challenge and the possibility of a big win from a small buy-in.
What about you? Do you prefer tournaments or cash games, and why?

Cash games all day for me.

Tournaments are fun for the occasional big score chase and the stories, but the variance is brutal and the rake/fee structure kills you long term unless you're absolutely crushing.

Tournament poker is definitely better; at cash tables, you're much more likely to bet your entire stack and lose. This is because cash tables are more likely to ruin you with a bad bet.

I prefer tournaments because of the excitement experienced leading up to the final.

Tournaments all the way, cash games are risky and difficult for me.

Both formats are interesting, but they offer very different experiences. Tournament poker is exciting because of the big prizes and the feeling of progressing through different stages of the event. One deep run can make the whole session unforgettable.
Cash games, on the other hand, are usually more stable because you can leave the table anytime and manage your bankroll more easily. The strategy is also different since the blinds don’t increase.
Personally, I like tournaments for the thrill and potential big wins, but cash games are great for consistency and steady play. It really depends on what a player enjoys more.

I love tournament Poker of cash any day. It fits my lifestyle. I play for the thrill of victory. Cash is just for coins and its not about the money for me.

I always prefer tournaments because I like limit bets so I don't get addicted and risk losing a lot of money.

I play tournaments more often. I only play cash games to complete various challenges that give me tournament tickets. I like setting goals during a tournament (double my stack first, then make it to the money, and only then make it to the final table). In cash games, I only have one goal: stay in profit until I complete the challenge. :)

MTTs, for sure

You need to have a really good self-control over cash games, knowing when to leave and stop. Sitting with $10 and doubling it is great, but will sounds like "not enough, I can do more", there's when you bust

I personally prefer tournaments. I like how every stage of the game feels different — deep stack play early, push/fold decisions later, and then the pressure around the bubble and final table. It creates a unique dynamic.

Cash games are great for stability and fundamentals, but for me they feel less exciting. In tournaments there is always the possibility of turning a small buy-in into a big score, and that’s what keeps it interesting.

I prefer tournaments, I've never liked cash, tournaments are more exciting, especially when you make it to a final table.

Tournaments for sure. I think cash is kinda boring but effective if you are good at it.

Tournaments require a lot of free time. Cash games allow you to join at any time.
