The game itself is what captivated me; the ability to earn money playing from the comfort of my home was also vital in my decision to try this wonderful game.

When I was a kid, I saw my uncle playing pokerstars. I sat and watched and really liked the game. That's how it all started.

I mostly hate it, but I still play it. I like winning tournaments, it's an incredible feeling.

For me, it was the way poker can completely reshape your mindset.
You end up learning a bit of math, psychology, physiology… and you re forced to improve your mental game and deal with losses in a healthy way.
Poker changed my life.

A few years ago, I was fascinated by a hand that my son played in an online tournament. Although he lost the tournament because of that hand, it helped me to understand that, even if something seems unlikely, it can happen in poker.

My son had an A6 full house (with AA) on the flop, and then hit his opponent with a royal flush on the last two cards.

For me, the love for poker started the day I watched Casino Royale. I couldn’t understand how Bond won that hand with 5♠7♠, and that confusion pushed me to dig deeper into the rules and strategy of the game. That curiosity led me to poker movies like Rounders (a classic), Lucky You, Deal, and many others — and I completely fell in love with the game.
I’ve been playing ever since, learning constantly, and I’m proud to say I’m still net-profit to this day.”

When I started to know that this is not a lucky game, but a mind sport...

I remember playing with my cousins... my very first hand is very memorable because it was a Straight Flush, but since i was playing with my cousins and i was small and very young, and my cousins were far older, they decided to bully me lol. We weren't playing for money, obviously, but they were not about to let their little cousin's first hand beat them.

For me it was watching Moneymaker’s bluff on Farha in the 2003 WSOP.

I didn’t even understand all the strategy back then — I just remember thinking, “Wait… you can actually win with nothing if you play it right?”

Hooked ever since.
