My favourite starting hands are the premium hands. I also like AJ or suited A,10 but play these much more conservatively. Small-medium pocket pairs are always good if you can limp or call a small bet.

low cards in big blind

Obviously, seeing AA is great, but when you are in early position, nothing hurts more than getting just the blinds. When I slow play AA, I usually get into trouble and lose a large amount. KK for me are A catchers...I've had some really bad luck with KK. What I love is having something like 5,3 or even 7,2 in the big blind, where nobody has raised, and you hit big on the flop.

J10 are my bullets. Ive actually had more Pocket Aces cracked than J10 on the Flop lol.

Boy, it sure does depend. Early position - High Pairs, Mid position AJ or better,
Late position - suited connectors.
Competition - Tight aggressive following me, High Pairs, Passive Mid pairs up,
Finally AK seems like doom to me from early Position, you definitely need help, if raised you're committing to theory if you call. You've been told it's premium, but it is only if you hit.

Of course the Premium hands are my favorite, but they are not easy to get so I have to open my rank, to see Suited Connectors, Suited preferably the latter I like to take them with a high card ( ) - or ( ).
Pairs well if the stakes are low before me I may see them to try to link a set, I do not like falling in love with small pairs and of course my position strongly influences how and acting.
