Hahahahaha, I totally get that! For me, it’s pocket Kings! Every time I see them, I already feel like I’m about to get cracked by an Ace on the flop. It’s crazy how some hands just feel cursed no matter how strong they are on paper.

I guess it’s part of poker’s charm though: the emotional rollercoaster of thinking “this time it’ll be different” and then watching the same disaster unfold again. 😅

My luckiest combination is AQ. It seems strong, but in most cases I lose with it.

I always play KK with a lot of fear. Maybe it is the hand that cost me more eliminations in MTTs

anyway over time everyone has won big hands with AA or KK etc... in the short term, the next day, I also noticed that you can lose with certain hands... but to me these hands I would not say that they repeat themselves every time...

I swear every time I get pocket Tens, something bad happens! Do you have a hand that always seems cursed?
I don't have "unlucky" hands in poker. Any hand can be great or it can be terrible. I don't believe in superstitions; I believe in raw, cold logic. Superstition is always tied to emotional baggage that messes with our heads when we need to make the right decision.
I could tell myself that Aces are a "lucky" hand, but that doesn't actually mean anything. What actually tells me something is that I'll get pocket Aces about once every 221 hands. And when I do get them, I have roughly 80% equity against a random hand. Now, if my Aces get cracked on the flop, it's not a "bad luck" hand or a "good luck" hand—it's just part of the game.

Poker is a game of logic and emotional control. No witchcraft, no superstitions, no myths. Just math and a calm demeanor.

Maybe I lose a lot with AK, or maybe I've never learned how to play this hand in poker.

it has been always JJ...... When I 3bet to late position players when I am at SB or BB ..loose to Higher over pair, ... If I call a raise and 3bet from from early position then loose to a speculated or small pair (with set)...often happens..

We've all experienced losing with a pair of aces, but superstitious players simply can't accept it. Because of this, they often play strong hands poorly and miss out on situations where they could have won.

There’s really no such thing as an “unlucky pocket hand” in poker — only unlucky situations. Any two cards can win and any two cards can lose. Even premium hands like AA or KK aren’t unlucky by themselves; they’re just statistically stronger starting points. What feels “unlucky” usually comes from context: stack sizes, positions, tendencies, board texture, or simply running into the top of someone’s range. A pocket pair doesn’t carry bad luck — it’s how the hand plays out against ranges and decisions. Blaming the cards makes the game feel mystical, but poker isn’t about fate. It’s about math, edges, and long-term outcomes. Over thousands of hands, no pocket pair is cursed — only misplayed or outdrawn.
