If I believe it, but not in the short term as many expect, I think I will one day become a good player, but only when I dedicate more time to the game. I think that already retired could become a professional poker player

Yep, I hope to succeed in poker which would bring the feeling in my life, that in a specific field of my life I am "top". On the other hand, I am afraid a bit, that poker will change my mind in a bad way. During the game trying to trap other people, wish they dont catch their draws, etc. Also the adrenalin which goes with the game is not healthy. So I think poker has very good and very bad aspects at the same time...

I don't think poker will make any big changes in my life or become more a part of my life then it already is. Poker like life is a gamble LOL

Poker in my world is entertainment and I have learned over the years to just play what I an afford to lose.

99.9% of poker players don't have the means, ability or even the desire to let poker change their lives. But for everyone else, poker can certainly change your life! Can be a good change, can be a bad change.

The sheer volume of people playing says that there must be people out there that could be among the world's best poker players, but don't have the nerve, bravery or financial ability to take that risk.

On the other hand, there are certainly those who have taken that chance, given up everything to take their shot, even on a lesser scale...and shouldn't have. A negative life change.

I use poker as hobby to relax so just like every other hobby it helps to feel better. Some small amount of people are able to earn enough money from poker so that their life changes to much better. Much bigger mount though gambles on poker so the change in their life is very negative. So in one way or another poker will always change your life. It just depends in which direction and at what degree.
