How often (%) would you slow play Aces?
I often find that whenever I raise the standard (3x) I usually get a fold back to me..
I started slow playing them more often but I notice that people catch on to it..
What is your opinion on this matter, CC?

Aces if there is a raise before your turn always all in if not raise and after per flop all in this is how I play with then I don’t know the statistics but it depends on the table

Never slow play any premium hand.
I was in the BB in a large live tournament and there was a player in late position who limped in. I called with 7,4 off suit. Flop came 7, 4, x.
I check called 3 times ,including all in after the river and doubled up. He had slow played aces.
A good raise or 3 bet will give you an idea of what a villain has.

Not a good idea to slowplay in majority of situations maybe if you have a maniac behind who vpip's 70+ and you'll know will raise behind but in most cases get money into the pot with your strong hands

only slowplay to change it up after most opponents clearly already pegged you as a solid player, or if you can pretty much count on an "all in almost every hand" maniac to go for it after you called.

So percentage wise, maybe 5-10% of the time, tops, imho. You know, poker is a fluid game, everything depends on the circumstances, odds, and instincts.

There is a time for everything in poker. No one can teach experience, which is the ultimate teacher.

If you slow play with the best hand, one time or another you will be surprised, min-raise, 3-bet, 4-bet all-in will always be the best option. It is very difficult to fold a premium hand when the board is not in your favor so put all your chips in the middle if you get the chance and if you still lose keep trying and it will pay off.

I remember the old saying "Better to win a small pot then to lose a BIG pot".

Bet them and don't play around with it. No need to get cute. You're going to lose a nice percentage of the time with them playing straight up and you don't need to do some fancy play that will usually end up trapping yourself.

Especially if you're the type that can't get away from a pair with a nasty board.

Its important to understand that Aces only winner 100% of the time preflop. So definitely slow-play is not an option. And its gonna be probably a bigger pot if someone is calling you as you won't give up easily or at all, but you don't have to take it to all-in if the board is connected or he/she showcasing way too much power to your raises.

I always enter with 2.5bbs so that the players value my Ace, it almost always works because if you are aggressive pre-flop, you scare the players of the hand

AA, like any other hand, I don’t understand the idea of slowplaying. After all, this will not change the structure of the board and the fact that the opponent will be able to win with the other hand with a good combination of circumstances.

Sometimes it makes sense to slowplay strong hands, but often this is punished and opponents turn out to have better cards by the river.
I sometimes slowplay them, but this happens very rarely, no more than 5-10%

Much depends on the structure of the tournament, but in my opinion, with pocket aces in most cases you need to play aggressively. At least I usually play aggressively.

for me it depends -just as always- on key facts like position, previous action, information about the opponent etc….. usually I don’t play Aces too slow cause you mostly get a flop that helps your opponent…..if you raise/reraise and you get a call it’s easier to give your opponent a range (he/she should have a stronger hand).

Sometimes I play Aces slow to trap my opponent (for example in blind battle situations)….but just in maybe 10% of all cases

With AA it is dangerous to be passive, as the opponent can come in with a weak hand and increase your chances of winning the hand after the flop. With pocket aces I play aggressively and if the opponent folds I don't get upset. I prefer it that way.

I play the same with all hands, both with AA and with any other hand, it's certainly dangerous, but it's harder for my opponents to read what hand I'm playing now! But in this kind of play, you will often need to make difficult decisions, and your AA may be underperforming other hands! But this is my strategy and I feel so comfortable playing! Good luck at the tables!

Aces are tricky to play & it has a lot to do with the flow on the table. If you wait too long the aces turn out to be worthless.

My rule of thumb is to never slow play any premium hand especially aces as it's get really tricky to play it post-flop and not many players can let go of it... I mean you can try different things depending on your position and see how it goes but at least try to avoid getting into situations where you just have to play such a high equity and against multiple opponents and this way lower your chances to win anything at all...

GLGL all at the tables $$$

I play my hands straight forward preflop, almost always. I don't play in those limits where I should play balanced. So I find zero merit try to balance against opponents who don't pay attention.

In some serious games some flats with monster hands are ''a must'' because players behind tend to squeeze in order to isolate or gather all the dead money without go postflop.

Never slow play aces in my opinion. Play them hard. I have been beaten more times slow playing them than winning with them with multiple players. Thinning the players is the key to winning with them.

Slowplay is sometimes worth using. But we must carefully look at the opponents.
We need rather non-standard players in late position. At the same time, I have deduced an important rule for myself. If I play AA this way, I'm internally ready to fold postflop on a dangerous board.

I think it's good to balance premium hands. Way too many times I've played AA aggressively and everybody folds leaving me with a small pot that I possibly could've gotten bigger if I slow played it. I've succeeded with both playing aces slow and betting them aggressively. But I've also failed by playing them slow and playing them aggressively.

At the end of the day aces are just like any other pair they can get cracked or beaten by a 2 pair and up. Poker is a strange game I say play aces however you want. You will succeed with them and fail.
