bluffing is a tool, a tactic that can sometimes be used sparingly, sometimes you can mistake your opponent for a well-designed and convincing bluff

Do you bluff? Sometimes, never, often? I'm still playing my rookie season in poker, I tried it very few times, it worked every time. Maybe not a bad way to steal a hand when you are chip leader. Of course you can always make an unnecessary loss.

Bluffing and Semi-Bluffing is an art. Knowing your opponent helps to determine when to do so. Never bluff someone who calls way too often. and always bluff the nit when no ace or faces fall. Lotta new players bluff to often thinking since they got away with it once they keep double dipping. Hopefully you figure it out before you go broke.

I think when you play with somebody that plays everyhand its obvious they do alot of bluffing, I tried couple times, but has to be at the right time,

I do not bluff enough, not even close. I wish to bluff more and I try to but ....I go to raise and then I just press fold....its so annoying. When I have done it occasionally it has worked sometimes and sometimes not at all. Maybe I take too long to do it. I feel sneaky and bad with a Cheshire grinn.

I guess I use the semi-bluff most often and will generally continue on with the bluff if I miss the flop unless I am raised :)

good strategy but when bluffing you run the risk of losing a lot of chips and when you play a good hand you won't have as much profit as you would expect

Depends. I will sometimes bluff big. Shhh don't tell anyone. haha
It's like that person who played and won with a sticky note over their cards. You have to bluff sometimes I think.
In some instances I am not bluffing at all for like an hour. That is especially against loose players that are going to call my bluff anyway.

I never bluff ;)

In all honesty if someone doesn't bluff then they won't get very far in poker. It's an essential and logical part of the game given that each player has incomplete information.

It's also fun :) Imagine how boring poker would be without bluffs

I never bluff so if you are at a table with me you now know I would not try bluffing you.

Thank you for the valuable information. I also never bluff so if you are at a table with me I will reciprocate your kind gesture of not bluffing :)

Blofing, in the long run, usually ends, very bad. Sooner or later someone will have a good hand to take you off the table.

In the beginning I used to bluff a lot, just because I wanted to win my hands anyway, this brought me a series of failures, I stopped bluffing for a while. With experience I have trained a little more, and I recognize that there are situations or more variables for a bluff to work and produce the expected result and not as it did before without meaning.:driver:

Depends on the situation but yes I do bluff every now and then. But use it in moderation. You do it too much then players will see through it, you do it too little then they will know to fold for the attempted bluff they do. Again Bluff yes, but do it in moderation, and pick your spots.

According to lei it is a science to lie but it does not always turn out well because other players with little experience tend to have bad beats and it could be a great loss of chips, it is not so effective but it is best to play analytically, watching each movement of each player waiting to reach a conclusion for those who can believe the lie, that would be my criteria

If you're not bluffing you are not playing poker....
Or you are losing a lot...

You just have to bluff!

In the long run you get as many good hands as everyone else. Imagine playing on the same table for 10 Million hands. If all players just play if they actually have something then no player really has an edge. The chips would be passed around. You win some, you lose some but in the long run it's a break even game.

BUT: If it isn't a home game then the site or casino takes rake from every pot! After a while all players will be broke and the casino has all the money!

If you were the only player that dares to bluff on that table you would probably be the only player that will not lose all his chips....
