It's one of the important parts of this game.
I think it's necessary if you feel your opponents are very good in other courses you can be fault.
I think if you can't do quality bluff you can't be good poker player because your opponents are ahead of you.

Short Answer - ALMOST NEVER

I bluff very rarely, but when I do, I definitely pick my moments.

It depends on my chip stack vs. other players at the table, their playing style as well as stage of the game and the buy-in. If re-buy is still available and the cost is low, you will still see too many bingo players that will call anything and just re-buy. I find this to be especially true right before late reg or re-buy period is over. Later in the game if you have a big enough advantage over the other players it can be in your benefit to bluff, but don't push your luck because it is also a good way for your stack to get chipped away.

But again, I very rarely bluff. I would prefer to have the cards to back up my bets/raises and see where the cards fall. I'd rather have a bad beat over getting knocked out because I played a hand I never should have any day!

If you dont bluff you cant play poker. The question would be when to bluff? but the answer is not easy. You need to evaluate your position, your opponent, your stack. Bluffing is a tool. But only the experience will teach you how to use it.
