How do I limit the swings in Omaha

This game is so swingy!! How do you limit the swings to a certain extent?

Embrace the variance!

For real, unless you're playing live. If you're a live player you can easily reduce variance and maintain a very positive edge, just going to pass up on some amount of EV doing so.

Cash or Freeroll Omaha?

I am new to this forum but not new to poker. We can't ever forget the difference in playing freerolls vs actual cash entry tourneys. The lower the entry fee the more the variance in play. Way too many "lucky" players in the freerolls, much more chance of being surprised.

Omg. Playing live Omaha and it’s crazy the swings are. I seen a players buy in 2 and 3 times after felting and the swing back up to 6x their buy after 2-3 massive pots in one session
Thankful my game is more conservative and I been down 1-2 buy ins. And winning about the same. 1-2 I’m going to see how it goes. But I think I will quit this game if the swings get any heavier. It took me two three sessions to get adjusted how quickly everyone goes all in at my local casino

Especially online you must push the edges you got so it's hard to reduce variance without giving up win rate.

But PLO is a flop game so try to see a flop without 3- and 4-betting to much. Then most or all money goes in PF it is much closer in PLO than NLH, So try to see flops if the players are bad. Even limp wish I never recommend in NLH.

In aggressive games you can also buy in short and more easily get it in as a favorite pre-flop most of the time (still a lot of variance but you don't risk a full stack every time).
