Have a good life outside of poker then the cards will come. I have gone broke I’ve been unemployed I’ve been down and out hit rock bottom but I picked my self up. all that you can do is prevail and enjoy life it’s a good ride a lot of ups and downs a lot like poker, when things are good they are great. I believe the best poker players are the ones who can win with worst cards, now that’s skill.

Folding is a great option.

Try to exploit an observable pattern or player style, irrespective of cards.

My opinion

I'm a little tilty that dont take breaks. If I want to make money, I usually play four small games then a big game. You figure twenty percent of the time the cards on your side.

If i'm still in active tournaments I'll usually take the break + 5-10 minutes. Just sit out, let myself breathe and catch up mentally. I can't fix the cards that came and plays I made but I can stop myself from putting myself in worse situations.

how do you handle a run of bad cards

i handle a run of bad cards by passing and letting a few rounds go by then trying a hand to see if the cards are still in a bad run. i also believe it has to do with where your sitting at the table

I think exercise is important but if it is bad enough of a run I try to get away from the game for a little bit. I find it more frustrating when I lose with very good hands to someone who gets stupidly lucky with junk hands.

Very simple you be very patient and wait it out and look for a good hand to play and play it right. Poker is a game of patient and skill not a game of oh man i'm not catch cards I need to make a move. You need to just sit back and be patient the cards will come sooner or later just be patient.

Patience

When you keep getting 46 23 38 28 29 every other hand
Best to be patient
It always helps wade out the bad phase
Thank you

We all experience a run of bad cards/days that feels like nothing we do works.
I take a bat, find a nice sized tree and start minecrafting the poor thing for about 20 mins.
Then I'll make a pot of coffee, smoke a cigarette, review the hands I played and note what needs fixing.
After that I shower, watch a movie or two, and wait till tomorrow to jump back unto breach.
Everyone has their own way, and time is the great leveler of all.

Wow... Nice technique... What kind of tree is it? Fruit tree? Be careful with coconut trees if you keep banging them coconuts fall on your head and if temporary amnesia sets in you might forget what you need to review in your game.

do you have any other technique i could take to the Live games? maybe some thing i could do in public but wont get arrested for?

Any way im going through some of the same at the moment string of bad hands and or some ones lower kicker beating mine each time grrrrrr

Think I'm going to just listen to "Smack My Bitch Up" by prodigy and head butt the walls for a while... lol

Stop when the fun stops or when the tree falls down...:eek::eek:

I tend to (try) to view each session as a continuation of the last. That way I can feel like today's loss is actually me giving back some profits from the last session. Or, conversely, today's win is offsetting what I punted during the last session. Taken to its extreme it gets me to look at each month or even year as a running total. I would think that the same can be applied to the cards you're dealt.

Over a long enough time line we should all get the same cards at the same frequency. We just tend to discount the run-good times. Either that or we're not getting the enough value from them and we're wiping out during cold decks.

Maybe I should be asking myself did I run bad, get cold decked, or is this a leak?
