You are definitely right, I am naive in pretending that. I already forgot everything it cost me to learn it!
If You're pretending that, :unsure:You're on the right direction, I guess "the person" isn't Your friend:ROFLMAO:.

I would explain the basic rules of the game, the strength of the hands in the pre-flop, together with the concept of playing in position, the importance of being an aggressive player in the plays, and how to control yourself at a time of possible “tilt moment” during the game. That would be good advice to explain in a week.

I will not say it’s “impossible” because OP put a general question. It’s very hard to learn poker in a holistic approach in only seven days, but one can learn the basics and even play with a small margin of success.
Another criteria we must consider is that maybe someone asked the OP for a seven days poker course, because the person believes it’s possible or want to prove it to itself.
In this particular case, OP can coach or teach it and the person should take all the responsibility for its desire to learn fast.
We know it’s preposterous to learn about anything having only a couple of hours of course, in this case two or three hours a day will make 14/21 hours of course/coaching and this is minimum for whatever area or knowledge: no one learns math or English in a couple of hours, but if the client is inclined to pay, the teacher can try its best giving the ethical procedures of teaching and learning.
I wouldn’t say it’s impossible for I play poker and we know about things that should never happen but do happen, three times in a row dealt pocket aces, one single outter that hits the river, two straight flushes in a row, you name it.
There are several levels of cognitive skills and mind, maybe someone is already a gambler who bets in horses and knows a lot about odds, maybe the person already plays poker but never betting real money, but it has the notion of position, ranges, equity, odds, mindset, etc.
I dare to say that to me and for the vast majority of people is impossible to learn poker in seven days, but teaching is very easy and can be very profitable if the student is one of those who loves to pay to learn as fast as possible.

Thanks;
Yes, we are talking about someone who likes gambling in general (casino, lottery, etc.), and learns quickly. The point is if we would be willing to invest money, so that person sits at the same table, playing with we. Trusting that he will have a good performance at a live cash game. After a free 7 day class. Lol!

Fisrt I believe it would be hard to teach poker in 7 days of course it would be only the basics of the game rules and hand ranking, and next some basic strategies and ways of adapting because every poker decision depend on the game situation.

Day 1-2
- Hand ranking learn first the strength of your hand and which one beat the other, if you don't know these everything else will be useless
- Game rules, positions who talks first and last, betting round, and all the rules different to hand ranking
- Game type tourneys and Cash
- Practice playing with Play money to know how it works, just the hand ranking and game rules internalize on the brain
Day 3-4
- Strategy of Position Type of opponents (tight aggressive, Loose aggressive), Preflop ranges
- Easy Math of poker,Draws, Cbet, Semibluff,
- Think long term understanding variance
Day 5-6
- Practice on Microstakes
- Study your game after, a session review your hand and put them into test, go to CC forum and ask for advice, check your decision on the odds calculator.
- Study more repassing all seen
Day 7
- Keep studying
- Take CC course of becoming a winning poker player in 30 days 🤭

You can learn the rules in 7 days. But this time is not enough to win money. When I started learning to play, I used poker simulators. It helped me understand how the game goes.

Imagine that you have a period of 7 days from now to teach Texas Poker to a person who wants to participate in a live game.
How would you start?
Would you talk to him about ranges?
What advices would you give?
It is quite possible to master the basics of the game in seven days. If a player understands the basics, then all he needs to do is just wait and play only with good cards, considering the position. That is, the main rule for a beginner is not to play with junk :)

I would have the student watch me play for 3hours each day for 2 days. And during that time I would play at the lowest stakes (the same that the student will play on... ie. $0.50 SNG's (multi-table), or $0.01/0.02 2nl cash game.
I would describe my thought process for EVERY SINGLE HAND... and I would also point out the mistakes that other players were making (& what they were doing wrong and why it is not good).

Then I would get them to play for 2hours. on the third day... and then review their Hands with them 'after' they finish playing.

Day 4 & Day 5. I would get them to watch me play for 2hrs., and then play for final hour.

Day 6. Have them play for 3hrs., with some discussion 'AFTER' they play the hands (we NEVER tell the student what to do during a hand... 1) because it's cheating & 2) because the student needs to try to develop their own thought process.

Day 7, I will again play for 2hrs. and have them watch me play. Each day I play, I also make a note of covering some of the basic concepts of nlhe.
And then for 1hr. I will review some of their HH's.

I would recommend taking our free CardsChat course. Although our course is designed for 30 days, nevertheless, if a beginner completes at least 7 days, he will already have a good enough knowledge of the game.
