For sure tougher. 5 years ago you could just value bet and chill. Now even at micros people 3bet light and float flops. Still beatable though, just not autopilot anymore...

Absolutely. Micro stakes today are much tougher than five years ago. More regulars, more aggression, and players studying strategy online has really raised the baseline skill level. You can’t just grind autopilot anymore.

Yes, there are to many poker players, and in those levels most are recreational, so... So unpredictable and crazy.

The players aren't the problem; it's the rake! At the micro stakes, the house takes such a huge percentage of every pot that you have to maintain a massive win rate just to break even. That’s the real 'difficulty' of the micros in 2026

5 years ago was in the middle of the pandemic so yes. But compared to 6-7 years ago (before the pandemic), not all that much.

They are just different, imagine you are playing against AI which doing same stuff all the time and adapt your playstyle.

freerolls do seem harder. Less value there too with lower total prize pools. I don’t play 50 dollars freerolls anymore, just not worth the time and effort.
