Yes, patience and luck. It is impossible to win without them.
Skills are useless if you play your hand well (your chances are also better), but they burn you down (e.g. you have KK, but on the flop an A comes to the player playing AJ).

Everybody has shared their thoughts, and the answer is quite easy, we all know that. But I was here thinking to myself: the difficult is not necessarily wait for hands or for good spots. This is just level 1. We have all been there, when we get tired or bored, and we do something we should not. We don't get good hands, or everytime we try to raise, someone 3-bets us... Then we get tired and mistakes happen.

But for the most part of the time, a decent player will not do this. And for "decent player" I mean someone who studies and plays for quite some time.

However, I believe that the next level is knowing how to not mistake patience with being super tight! Maybe we wait so so much, and we don't recognize spots for 3-betting light, or to steal blinds. We need to remember that patience and fear are different. Patience prevents us for entering bad or marginal spots when we know that we are likely behind; fear prevents us from entering good spots when we know we should go ahead and take them.

patience is fundamental in a poker game and it is the least I have when the good cards come out I go all-in right away I don't wait for the opponent's card but that's part of the game

Dear colleagues, how important is patience to win tournaments? Where is patience in the qualities necessary for victory? I'm new to poker and at the moment I'm faced with the following problem: after about an hour of playing, my excitement ends, I start making conscious mistakes and when I lose I don't regret it at all, and maybe even glad that it's over ...)), but on the next day I'm sorry. Perhaps this is affected by the time of the game, mostly tournaments take place on the borders of the evening / night in my time zone. Perhaps someone faced such a problem and already defeated it ...!?
Maybe you should move to sit and go's for now. They last on average 40, 50 minutes. In tournaments it's really important to stay focused at all times. Especially after the first break, when buy-ins are usually higher and mistakes are more expensive. I like SG because of it, it's funnier to me. But if decide to play MMT, be ready to spend a long time playing, if you don't wanna to lose money.

Since about 80 percent of the cards need to be played fold, I think patience is a very important component of poker. It doesn't matter which stack is important, which prize is important, and patience sometimes helps in this.

For me, it's one of the most important aspects of a poker tournament. You have to know when to be aggressive.

It was taught to me early in my poker journey that patience and paying attention are the two most important qualities to learn for poker tournaments. Everyone here contributed a lot to hopefully convince you to be patient. When you are playing live for a lot of money these qualities will make you money. Good luck!

Very important, whether in the first minute or hour, you must always be attentive, as time goes by I also end up "forgetting" about it sometimes.

I'd like to say that I have defeated that problem, but I would be lying...... I don't think any poker player can say that they have. After all we just keep tripping over the same rock. Gl to you and take it 1 step at a time.

patience is very important in poker, we must not go crazy when we do not get anything, there are several options for it, the important thing is to give your best in each session, the results will come.

Perhaps in your case it is a question of motivation. Think and decide for yourself what you want to achieve, what your goals are in poker. If your goal is to have fun, then it's ok, no problem. If your goal is to become a successful, profitable player, then patience is the key to achieving your goals. Think about what you want.

I will say patience require for MTT is inversely proportional to the structure of the tournament. Slower the tournament structure, you can wait more patiently for appropriate spots to hunt. In case of turbos and hypers, you need to let go some of the patience and start gambling more.

Even if you are not getting cards and are feeling bored, find ways to get back interest and not go on tilt. Some things I try is to analyze the bets and take a guess on others cards even in hands I am not in, count some random things in the casino and re-focus, replay few movie scenes in your mind, listen to some songs or watch some videos whatever you are interested in and tell yourself why you are playing poker. All of this helps.

Yes, it is very important, especially at the beginning of a tournament, because many want to double their chips and sometimes with bad play. This makes us wait for good cards and bluff less, which can take a while. That's where patience comes in, to see the best playing situation.

There are tournaments here at CC where I wait and get very short, less than 10 BB, but with two folds I come back into the game and get well in chips. Patience is important.

Patience is the key to success in life, not just in poker.

Of course in poker patience is important because we fold most of the time, so we have to wait to receive the correct hand.

There are other things when you have to have patience like when you take a bad beat...

Not only important, it is fundamental! In the game of poker, you play few hands and if the player can't hold his momentum, he can lose everything in his game!
