By the way for me the best televised slowroll ever is this one. Slowrolling is of course bad etiquette, and people were having a cheap laugh at Mikes expense, which was obviously not very nice for him. But with the way, Mike acted, he ended up being the person making a bad look for himself much more than Shaun.

Absolutely my favorite also!

The point being that Mike the Mouth can be relentlessly abrasive at the table, and whilst we all agree that slow rolling is bad form, if anyone had it coming, one might argue that it could be Mike Matusow!

Kinda dirty, but funny. Builds resentment, but that's ok. Paybacks and Karma have a way of working these things out. Could be a way of putting players on tilt. Be careful of what you wish for.

Mike also did not play the hand particularly well. He bet full pot on the flop and overbet jammed the turn, after the flushdraw completed, without even having a flushcard in his hand. And if we just analyse this as a normal hand, what can Mike really expect to get called by here, that he beat? Probably not much, so he value owned himself, and it looks like a situation, where he just rammed and jammed, because he was tilted after losing a big pot in another hand and did not know, what to do with his hand out of position.

In these high stakes games Mike is kind of a "bad reg" these days. Mostly getting invited because he has a name, and as I understand it sometimes being backed by other players like Phil Helmuth. After the hand, we can hear also, that the other players dont want Mike to leave, which is quite telling, when you understand a bit of, how cash game poker work ;)

Slowroll is a deliberate action aimed at convincing the opponent of his victory.
A player slowrolls with one simple goal - to try to piss off the opponent. Sometimes they want revenge, sometimes just because of their harmful nature. At the same time, the rules of poker do not provide for any punishment for slowroll. It's just a matter of education. Remember that when playing poker it is very important to maintain a friendly atmosphere. And no matter how annoying the opponent, in no case should you stoop to his level.

You got already very good replies….especially the ones, that explain the difference between „slowroll“ and „slowplay“.

A slowroll is not a gentle way to finish your nuts winning hand….for me it’s for sure a bad attitude of a pokerplayer, because it’s just for harming your opponent….for nothing else.

slow-playing is a 100% fine, slowrolling is only bad if a player has the NUTS and the other person is already all-in,

if there are more people behind you in the hand then it's not slowrolling, it's just you trying to get the other players to call. really that simple

That's what time banks are for. Often times I have to reply action in my head or rank my hand or just try to figure out appropriate bets. The one trick for live tables I have done that pisses people off is I will hold my cards face down an inch or so off the table like I am going to fold and when the action gets to me I do something else.

I watched a couple of videos, and roughly understood the meaning of this word. but I also saw that in the poker world, this action causes a negative attitude. and I can't understand this. Maybe due to the fact that I'm a new player, maybe because of my upbringing?

The problem with slow rolling is its not a classy play to do. I have sat there wondering what someone it timing and counting down for over a minute and at the last second they show something like four ok a kind or something that's the nuts. Its not like the player is trying to get you to bluff or bet into them as usually the person getting slow rolled as already all in. I guess you can say it is about respecting the players and the game.

That sounds like borderline angle-shooting. Seems a little unethical to me.
