The most important tip for any beginner is to play tight and aggressive because most new players lose money by playing way too many weak hands out of position and just calling instead of betting.

When I started, the biggest improvement came from keeping things simple and disciplined. I stopped trying to play every hand and focused on solid starting hands, especially in good position. That alone saved me a lot of chips. I also learned not to get attached to hands — folding felt boring at first, but it’s actually one of the most important skills. One thing I wish I had done earlier is study preflop ranges, because knowing what to play from each position makes every decision much easier.
Another thing that helped me was accepting that I wouldn’t win every session. Once I focused on making good decisions instead of chasing results, I became more patient and less emotional. I kept stakes low, reviewed my mistakes, and tried to learn a little bit every time I played. Over time, those small adjustments made a big difference.
