I have been training poker strategies and I wanted to know your opinion on betting decisions.

When at the table, how are you deciding the right time to bet, pay, or quit?
Do you rely more on mathematics and odds, or do you analyze the behavior and patterns of opponents?

And another question: do we think that freeroll tournaments are worth playing more aggressively or conservatively compared to real money games?

I want to hear the opinions of players with different styles and learn new ways of thinking about the game! ♠️♥️♣️♦️

For me it’s a balance between math and people.
I always start with pot odds and equity in mind — that’s the “ground floor.” But as soon as I have a few orbits of info, the focus shifts to who I’m up against. Timing, bet sizing, how quickly they act… those things tell a story that pure math can’t.

In freerolls I tend to play tighter early and open up later. Players there love to gamble early, so there’s no need to join the chaos — just wait until the field thins out, then start pushing edges more aggressively.

So short answer: math gives the base, opponents decide the adjustment.

You should try to be unpredictable, maintaining a balance between strong hands and bluffs in all aggressive lines. Your opponent should see unexpected hands at showdowns, so they'll doubt their decision even more next time. You need to plan your actions at every stage of the hand.
