lol i learned about holdem years ago at a party. Some people brought out some cards and started playing holdem. I had no clue what was going on so i just watched. I started playing with friends over and over again thats how i learned to play. then moved to online.

When I was part of Corporate America there was a game at least once a week, but when I went out on my own I stopped playing poker. I started playing online in a charity tourney on Doyles for Hurricane Katrina... had a great time so began to play at a few sites

I learned on line. Played only once at a casino, won 6 hands in a row, then this guy next to me started hitting on me & I called for my rack & left. Have not played live since. Love playing in tournaments. Cash games are also a lot different than free chips. But Love freeholds. Play everyday on line for the last yr. My dream is to get good enough to be able to play in one of those big tournaments. Hope I live long enough. A lot of good young talent out there. I dislike foul mouth players and usually mute them if I can.

When I was young. My mother and father had 6 boys. I am the youngest. We had poker games all the time. Most of the time we play buck up. I grown up playing. Texas holdem I started around 5 years ago. Learn it on line. Played many freerolls. Now this is my game I enjoy the most. NL is the cat as? All someone has to say is dealem and I will be there.:deal:

Grew up playing poker. nickel,dime with the family. more a time to snack out and gossip than really learn. Didn't really learn the right way until I started playing on line and reading poker books

friend of mine played some poker online, and ocasionally I played too.
Then A local bar began to run some small € 10 buy in poker tours with +/- 35 people. As I played those tours I really started to enjoy the game and got really interested in the stratagy behind it.

Then I got sick home from work due to migraines and got hooked on online poker. Id became so much fun that I even have a stack of chips on my mousepas to shuffle with And started searching for proffesional poker games that where televised and posted on newsgroups (example: High Stakes Poker).

Together with the nummerous resources on the internet, I learned a lot and now I play on a regular basis in local tours and online.

I've been playing poker ever since I was a kid. I started watching ESPN's coverage of the main event 2 years ago and about 6 months ago I figured I'd give it a try. I played at fulltilt with play money until I got up over 50K in play money and then went over to UB. Wow what a difference, I started getting UB points with in a month. Then I played some over at poker stars and won some play money sit and go's. I'm working on getting enough UB points to play in some real money games and playing fulltilt freerolls to get that damn $2.00 so I can use my $0.49 cardchat tourney money to make real money.

So like the paper boy in Better off Dead..."I want my $2.00!!"

I learned by trial and error (mostly errors at 1st) playing $5 buy-ins with friends, once i started winning, I moved to online play. Now i play both!!!!!

I started up playing at pokerstars on the play money tables. I then progressed to the sit n' go tourneys with the larger buy ins because it seems donks don't play these tourneys too often and that people treat these sng's as if it is real money. Then I tried out the micro limits, first the 1/2 cent tables then slowly up. I am now at .10./.25 cent tables making sure that I don't play too high of a level for my bankroll.

Where did I learn to play?

Wow, I started poker with actual cards in Feb 2006. Prior to that I had from time to time played video poker. When I started playing with real cards, I finally learned the hand rankings. I was quite flabbergasted (sp?) when I found out what a flush was...how can dumb can I be to play video poker without knowing the rankings...who knows how much money I threw away!

I began playing live MTT on a gambling boat. My husband had been playing there several nights a week and I was tired of being a poker widow. So I read Harrington's book and joined him. I made the final table in my first tournament. (Thanks to Harrington). I won my first tournament in May 2006. I have been hooked ever since.

I was invited to play once with some friends. I didn't really know the rules (lost because I thought I had a straight with my QKA23). So, I started playing online, won a big tournament, and haven't stopped since.

I learned online after watching an UPC tournament one late Saturday night. I got some free money, read their strategy section, and lost most of it. Then went to Amazon and Barnes & Nobles and got some real poker books, and am getting better. I've actually have won the free money back and more. Still have a ways to go, but I'm planning on playing in live casino or card room this year. Maybe sooner, if the legislature makes poker legal here!

Been about 5 years, first got interested by WPT when you could actually see their hole cards. Started online immediately at PS, have played several others and still do, but mostly PS. Was a complete donk when I started, pretty much like everyone else. I'm pretty sure I"m still a donk most of the time, but now I've learned a little more about BM, so at least my donk tendencies don't break me.

I started playing poker as a teenager with friends. All we played then was 5 card draw. I guess it was 5-6 years ago when I first played NL Holdem on the Internet. My very first poker site that I played on was PokerRoom. I played there for about a year or so for play money only. After I built up my play money stack to the max I was ready for some real money action. At the time the real money side at PokerRoom was really slow. It would take sometimes 30 mins just to fill up a SnGo table. So I then started looking around for a busier Site to play at. Party Poker was pretty much the big deal on the block at the time. I started playing in the MTT's regulary. I knew that the game would be totally different than what I was used to as far as playing with the play money. There was nowhere as much action preflop and of course people played alot tighter than they would with play money. But, for the last few months at PokerRoom all I played was the 10k preflop or fold tables. Most of the people on those tables treat that play money like real money. So, my game wasn't totally up for a 360 degree change. After playing for a year at Party Poker I ventured out and joined pretty much all the big poker sites that were available - Empire - UB - PS - FT - Doyles Room - Planet Poker - Paradise - River Belle - Tiger Gaming - Pacific - Titan - AC - Vega 24-7 - FCP. I narrowed all the Sites down over time and played pretty much just on the Sites I liked best. I would have to say that FullTilt and PokerStars have always been my favorites. I'm am happy as a US customer to still have both of my favorite Sites to play on. I also play 3-4 a week at some local games near my home. We have about 5 local backroom games. Some have been going for 15+ years. I enjoy playing live much better because I have more fun. The Internet is great because of all the action you can get 24-7. But, I would have to admit that I enjoy playing Live Poker better.
