I think that is a little annoying for the other players and quiet disgusting too. Definitely I vote for use the dinner breaks or spaces of times like that.

I see no reason to prohibit eating at a poker table.

There is an advantage. When a player is eating and sees a good hand, he reacts quickly without paying attention to empty his hand and concentrate on his game.

I think players should only be able to eat food that doesn't dirty the table, and I think they should because live tournaments take a lot of time, so it would be good for everyone to be well fed to do their best since people tend to change when they're hungry. your natural behavior

I don't see a problem with eating at a poker table, as long as the player is not eating with his/her hands., because that would be a problem, since cards and chips would get dirty.

Allowing players to eat at the table may be considered a courtesy, but it is also important for players to maintain respectful behavior. Players should be mindful of not interfering with others' play, maintaining personal hygiene, and being considerate of other players.
Type of food: In most places, players are allowed to eat snacks or foods that are not too messy, as foods such as sauces or foods that can dirty the cards and tokens can be detrimental to the game and the quality of the game. cleaning the table. Some places may allow specific foods, such as dry snacks, while others may impose stricter restrictions.

I think quick bite of snacks can be allowed if the player eats when he has folded his hand, provided all other players should be fine with it.

Or else it's better to have scheduled breaks or the player can miss an entire betting round and resume after having his meal.

You definitely can’t eat while playing. I know this for sure from my own experience.
While eating, I repeatedly missed a hand and did not have time to insert a bet..And then you get distracted and think about something completely different.

Yes. I think it should be allowed, because we want recreational players to be as welcome as possible. That being said, I think that any food that could damage/dirty the cards or the table should be prohibited. Pokes is a social game/sport, so, i think it should be the most informal vibe possible.

It's ok by me if anybody eats or drink as long he is quiet and don't mess the table with his things.I don't know if it is allowed though but it should in some cases .

at the 'indian casinos' i frequent in california you can put food and beverages on small side tables as you play . its fine by me ! id rather have a full 8 or 9 handed game than a short 6 handed one ( as several players eat or drink elsewhere ) in which the already excessive house rake drops chips even faster .

I wouldn't allow us to eat at the tables while playing. It distracts from the game as well as other players at the table.

I don't mind table food and drinks. But this must be done aesthetically, without causing irritation to others. Light snacks that do not stain the table, hands and cards..

Haha… I have eaten a few times at the poker table and felt awkward doing so- pre-covid days. Nowadays I don’t think eating at the poker table is appropriate. Dirty fingers mess up the cards and nobody really wants to watch you eat lol

I don’t mind if glasses of vodka, whiskey or wine are carefully poured at will, and berries and dried fruits could be a snack.:ROFLMAO:

I'm absolutely against eating at poker tables, there are special seats for this purpose, and there are breaks during tournaments! drinks yes, coffee tea, maybe even beer, but not whiskey or vodka, a drunk at a table is worse than a dirty pig!

As it is a game that lasts several hours, and considering that in some games the break time is very low, I think that the problem would not be food, but individual education, things that we learned from our parents, if the person is dirty and unable to eat without making a mess, I think that person should be reported for this.
(there are foods that require the use of hands directly on the food, these should be avoided, but if I use cutlery I see no problem)

It's ok if it doesn't disturb other players and if person eats nearby, I mean not exactly at the table he's playing. Well it depends on the poker room, if it's casino then they have certain rules, if it's a poker night at my house, then why not, you're welcome and bon appetit.

Thinking about it, when I do play live, I always leave the table and go eat somewhere (if I'm playing cash). The room I would usually go to wasn't super busy, so I could leave my chips at the table, go eat, and come back and get back in the game. And for tournaments I would eat before hand, and grab something at the break. Everything is close by.

But I just think about how dirty those dang chips are, and if it's finger food, I'm putting that in my mouth? No thanks. Plus then, it feels incredibly rude to be smacking away at something, potentially getting my food on the chips/table/etc. Now mind you, I've never played a marathon grind tournament like a wsop tournament, or some of the bigger Vegas style tournaments, so I might change my mind then. :p

Just no. People should eat before an MTT or use the break for eating.
And since COVID-19 I think people should sanitize their hands and cards and chips should be also sanitized.
People should think about hygiene in my opinion. And eating is really leaving often some unwanted spots on cards or chips.
Therefore, it is a no-no for me.

NO, any type of food should not be allowed to take away the concentration of those who eat, but it will take away the concentration of the participants. It would be unfair to hinder the smooth running of the game. Imagine someone eating peanuts at game time? eat during breaks or when you lose.

It depends on what food you are talking about. In liquid form and in sealed containers with straws perhaps?
But initially not, as cards, tables and surrounding areas can quickly become an undesirable scenario. Fat fingers on cards? Don't think so.. :p Not to mention potentially unwanted whiffs

Everyone eats at the table at my local games, the rule in the room is no eating at the table but everyone does. It's fine as long as you don't put the food near the table or cards, and for the love of god , don't lick your fingers and handle the cards
