When you're playing live poker, do you prefer to be quiet and observant, or do you prefer to chat and get to know the players?
I think you can perform much better when you talk to other players.
The first time I played live poker I didn't know anybody and it made me really nervous, nobody talked to me and they all knew each other.
It made me uncomfortable.

If you are prone to leaking information about yourself, then stay quiet, other than that chat and try and gain information, chatting may also help ease your nerves.

I play only online poker only, and I write chat very often. I write so much and so often that Others always ask me: "Are you drunk?" But I am not. (I dont drink alkohole since 11.09.2014 - On that day, an accident happened in my life and I lost everything: Mum, Dad, Home, Job, Money... and freedom for many years. I am never drunk.

I'm sorry for these personal topics, but I'm like an open book and very often people take advantage of my naivety and gullibility. I won't change even though the times require it. I believe in people and I will always do so. There are few of them left.]

I have marked many forum members. I always try to greet them nicely. When I lose a hand to them, I often write: "It is alwayse nice to loose with CC member. If they win with other player at the table - I write: "CC members alwayse Win"
When nobody answer I just write: "Ohh.. I see there are only BOTs at the table " . Sometimes I get answers: "No mate - just try to be focus at the game"

If I would play live poker - I'm sure my mouth won't shut up. I'm just a big talker. I would ask other players millions questions and You know why... because people are different when they answer true and they are different when they lie. So, it could help to just know when they are bluffing and when they got the best hand.

Exaple questions:
Are You happy to play this turnament today? (of course YES will be true answer).
Have You ever speak with Aliens? (heh I am sure that only me got that possibility xD)
I hope You understad what I mean - there are a lot of general questions that You 100% know answer and You will know how the person react telling true/false.

Online generally I just concentrate on my own game and not get involved with comments on the table. Basically pretend I am playing against a computer and take out any emotional triggers that could send me on tilt. Lie playing golf, try to remain on a stable footing and keep as calm and calculating as possible.

Thank You Mate for that YT - I subscrible at start It is amazing. I can imagine only what You feel. Few days ago I was playing good turnament and Pass 1010 hand after Riva. I am sure opponent was bluffing playing allin. But I was afraid - it was bubble. Blinds was so high... That pass demolish my head - I will never know what hand he got. I was eliminated in bubble. I was thinking non stop about that deal. Even today after few days I cant forget it

Always! Be that person who complains about getting beat & has a low self confidence level....as far as the table thinks.

Play tight and the table bullies will inevitably try to push you off the nutz when they don't even have a pair. Easy money...

It seems to me that everything will depend on the character of the person, during a live poker game it is better for someone to be silent, and for someone it is possible to talk. Some conversations can interfere with concentration, some specifically distract the opponent from the game by talking and this is their style of play. Some people are very good-natured, during frequent meetings and conversations they can make friends with their opponents and therefore at a crucial moment they can show pity, but this should not be done. Probably everyone should determine for themselves how best to play.

I never communicate live, only if they ask me maybe I answer - depending on the question.I don't usually talk online either.
