I think it's better not to show your cards. The less your opponent knows about us, the better for us.

I think there's an old rule that says something like never show your cards, it's almost superstitious but think of doyle brunson age/style.

If a guy is tilting and you want to roil him I guess you could show, if it's a gentleman game then you could show or if you bluffed a guy hard and it was perfect and you where respectful you could probably show and he wouldn't be too offended, maybe even impressed.

Only times to show cards are when you have been active in a lot of hands and won lots and want to show your playing premium hands or if you want to tilt someone with your bluff. There are upsides and downsides to doing it so in each situation it must be weighed up.

There is a time & a place to show a bluff. I do believe it almost never is good because really it displays a lack of tactfulness. I'v pissed off alot of people, and also been pissed off by people showing me a bluff.

Now if I was at a ft and it was a significant pot & it ws epic, or lets say you'r familiar with the player your bluffing, maybe u have a history of bluffing each other etc.

Time & a Place. But almost Never show it... lol

Showing a good bluff as advertisement is good for your image at the table; but be careful
to over do this. Also to confuse your opponents even more, you should show when you're holding the NUTS as well... But over all just try not to show your cards to much cause this might hurt you in the end..!

Showing cards only for a reason if your trying to run over a tight player show it when you have it. If your trying to get more action because no one is paying your big hands off than run a bluff and if you get caught show it.

I've played enough at my local casino for most people to know roughly how I play - I'm quite tight but also extremely aggressive with a lot of bluffs. I'll show almost all of my bluffs if they're called in an interesting way - if somebody just plays standard and makes bluffing unprofitable then I won't show, but if they do something strange then I will. Conversely, I'm also quite tight in response to a lot of aggression, meaning I'll fold some decent hands if I get a bad feeling. If I'm the last to act here, I'll usually show my cards - however I don't recommend doing this for most players, because they usually can't pull of the insane amount of bluffs I make: I get paid off in poker because I'm just as likely to play (and fold) aces as I am 73o and people know it. I'll also do the usual, where if I'm dealt a good hand in the BB but it gets folded round to me then I'll show for a little bit of sympathy.

I never show unless required to. If you're truly levels above your competition I can see an argument for occasionally showing to set someone up or tilt them.

I used to believe in the "never show" group until I won a hand with a full house Queens over 9s in a cash game with an hourly high hand bonus. To qualify for the bonus, you must use both hole cards and have at least a full house, and the hand must GO TO THE RIVER...so if your opponent folds at showdown, you can still get the bonus...the thing is, you have to show it....oooops; didn't show and lost $300 bonus. Now I am careful to table a good hand, because it may be a winning hand if your opponent calls out their hand incorrectly.

I am with you SPANKYSN on this. Casinos have different events going on all the time. Naturally, it is best to know beforehand. Showing a monster hand is not going to give away much about your style of play - everyone plays monsters. And if you can win a promo with the hand, that is a bonus.
Showing pocket Aces is also a reasonable action, given that many casinos have "Aces Cracked" promos. At a table in Arizona last week, two players at my table got dealt pocket Aces about 12 times between them in 4 hours. The Aces were cracked enough to make those players a handsome profit on the afternoon.

I'm agree also. But I was interested in question: could you get more profit if you show incorrect information about your game? If you did it, you can play your normal style game but opponent will think you play like when you show cards. Mind games

This topic relevants to live poker more than online but also these moves can be used by you in online too. Moreover I have my example: I was catched with bluff and then in next hand I got straight on flop. I started bet agressively and opponents thought I was bluffing. It was surprise

I'd still agree with not showing anytime you don't have to. I never show my hand because I don't want them to have any information whether it be real or false. Not showing will 100% keep them guessing which is what you want.

It depends, we had a noob at the table that showed their cards thinking they had lost, they had one. Tabling them is important if you're new to the game
