It's simple: I never show my cards because I don't want to give my opponents information about the way I bluff.

The main reason why auto-much should be checked. You do not want to convey any info to your opponents.

Hey, just wondering how many of you have auto-muck unchecked when they play?

Is it a bad idea to show anything given the amount of software collecting stats online?

If you show some hands, which do you show, and why?

Can you exploit data collection software by showing hands you’ve played incorrectly? As in showing the opponents software that you’re capable of making bad plays?

Showing the cards is a mistake, it's that simple, but consider that you want the stats to be affected a bit, try to play the hand as if you were Premium and end up showing your bluff, doing that several times and playing exactly as if you had cards solids will make it not predictable to know whether or not you are ahead, but if possible, not giving free information is the ideal, if you want to see your cards that pay for it.

I don’t show my cards because of the tactics of course. I think that many good players had auto-muck on ;-)

Information is a vital commodity at the poker table, never show cards unless you are called.

I have auto much unchecked. It adds more time to the hand once you win which can help near bubble play. I show hands that I get a walk on if I have something good. Since getting a walk is a null play, showing your hand doesn't have a negative impact from a play standpoint. It can have a minor mental game impact on some opponents so I will show those hands.

I have had the small blind say they were going to shove a marginal hand, but knew I had a hand since everyone folded

Coo, I’d be intrigued to hear some more strategical advantages anyone thinks they’ve employed by showing cards at certain times... thanks for the replies

You should NEVER show your cards in a live game or online. Unless you are doing it as a part of your strategy to tilt a villain. Only 1 time in the last 6 months have I shown a hand and it was when I had my villain locked on an A-high flush through sound range reading and knowing my opponent and I showed him my fold of a K-high flush. It sent my villain on a tilt so hard that he had been "read" he ended up losing his stack rather promptly. And it earned alot of respect from the rest of the players at the table and made the night very profitable for me.

As for showing your hands that is a hard no from me. Not unless your trying to use it to your advantage in some form of strategy.

Auto Muck always on, unless you really know your opponents showing hands does nothing but let the table know where a fish is sitting.

Are you calling me a fish, I show sometimes. Sometimes it's AA or KK type of hands and other times it is 23os.
