Do You Prefer Playing Many Tables or Just One?

I usually like to play 4–5 tables at the same time. For me it’s a good balance between volume and focus. If I play too many tables, my decisions become worse, but with 4–5 I can still think through important spots and stay comfortable.

Max 4 tables, and best runs 2 tables for me,
I like short sessions with playing lot of hands from begin til I tripple or more the first buy in and go to other tables
I play cash games
and some freeroll as tournaments (have no patients for 4+ hour sessions)

I personally play 1 to 4 at a time. The only negative about more than 4 is you are very likly to not play your best game as you cant concentrate on the game.

Depending on the tournament I'm playing, I prefer to concentrate on a single table, as playing at multiple tables makes it difficult to assess my opponents.

I'm too ADHD to play single table, but probably 4 is enough. Six is too much hassle. Also don't want to spend too much time playing poker so of my time so playing multiple tables also saves some of my precious free time.

Honestly, I almost never play many tables. I usually play freerolls, so it’s normally around two tables at most. I’ve tried playing four or five tables before, but since I’m not used to it, it becomes harder to always make the best decisions.

My goal is to grow my bankroll and eventually be able to play many tables like the best players do. But first you have to start with a few, and once you feel comfortable and balanced with those, then you can slowly increase the number of tables.

I'm a recreational player, I try to focus on one table at a time. It's just easier for me to see what hands my opponents play and to see how I can adjust my play against them. If you want to play more than two tables, you need a bigger screen or multiple screens and I just don't make any money from poker to afford that. I just play for fun.

Today I prefer to open more tables to increase my winnings, but when I started I played one table at a time to concentrate more. However, now that I have more experience, it has become easier and I prefer to open more tables at the same time.

I usually play up to 8 tables without any problem, but, if I'm playing a ultra fast game (like a zoom cash game), I may play up to 4 tables.

New and beginner players should play only one table and build up to multi-tabling. I've been playing 20+ years and play mainly full-ring. I can only double table full-ring and not have any drop off in my performance and ability. In my opinion most rec/hobby and micro stakes players likely shouldn't play more then 2 tables for their own best interests.

But then my game is likely more free flowing and not as structured as a lot of other players. I play TAG+exploitive+table feel/instinct strategy. Which means I have to keep good track of 16-18 players double tabling. If I had more structured game I'd could likely play a lot less by feel and instinct....I could like add at least another table.

It’s a good balance between getting enough volume and still maintaining solid focus on decisions.

For me, a few tables allow proper reads, note-taking, and better overall game quality.
Quality of decisions is more important than just playing more hands.

I do not think there should be a fixed preference between one table or many. The real goal should be choosing the option that gives you the highest profitability.

For some players that means focusing deeply on one or two tables and making better decisions. For others, volume and solid fundamentals across several tables can increase overall hourly results.

It is mostly about knowing your limits and finding the balance where your win rate and volume work best together.
