ACR Rep said:
Hello! I'm the ACR Rep, thanks Shady Slim for calling me up. For those who play on ACR, regarding the ISP (internet service provider) we normally recommend to have a stable internet connection and a high-speed internet. If the internet connection is unstable, we recommend closing all the other poker applications, normal applications, websites or any other related stuff that use the internet and only use the ACR app, that should help for sure.

Using a VPN or thing related to cover the IP would raise a security alert, we don't recommend to use this because the security system will automatically block your account. Any other questions you have, please let me know!

I think the main question is if during a tournament you have a power outage let's say. People can use their mobile phones as a hotspot and switch over to that. Will this raise a security flag as well?

The first thing that comes to mind is that the world plots against us and we blame the luck and the insults go to the internet operator that gives you the service

it's true this is something that happens frequently, I'd like to believe that it's just a coincidence.

It usually happens that at certain times of the day the data traffic is very high and this generates connectivity losses

That is an infrastructure issue for some regions. You are in Argentina, and I have noticed a Brazilian here at CC who is having chronic problems to even log into ACR. There is no problem with the Internet where he is at, it is just how the trunk-lines running to the ACR servers that become an issue.

It really is something very very annoying, I constantly have that problem, you know that you could end up better, but the connection is cut

online

I had this happen to me when I was chip leader with 3 tables left in a 10000 player field. I actually called my mother who lived in another state and played the rest of the tournament over the phone. It was crazy with her trying to tell me all the details of the tables and me having to tell her how to bet and everything, but I did finish second. It was a prize tournament and I wanted the second place prize over the signed book so when it got to the final two players i lost it on purpose. Was probably my most amazing poker playing of my life seeing as i could not see any of what was actually happening!

I just made a new deposit on ACR and am really dedicating to crushing the microstakes sit and gos, and I was running pretty hot for a few tourneys, and in one I made the final 3 as chip leader and lost connection. Got it back after an hour and checked to find the obvious: I finished 3rd. Of course this is only a few dollars difference in the long run, but as a pretty obsessive person I can't seem to stop thinking about it. Variance I can handle, bad beats I can take, but when I'm playing my 100% and some force f*cks me up, idk how to overcome that.

Just another reason added to why I much prefer playing live.

Yes, I also have such situations, but the maximum time for which I lost the Internet about 20 minutes. Perhaps this is due to your ISP, or maybe it's in your modem? I had several times the situation: the power supply from my modem could not stand the power surges on the network and turned off .. Check all the nodes and joints of wires and all other equipment before starting a long tournament) Good luck!

Thats frustrating, you need to figure out the cause and find the fastest way to fix it the next time it happens.

usually when my main connection drops I make the secondary connection through the internet of my cell phone, I am already prepared for when eventually one of the problem connections.

You can use it but it may raise a security alert, however, it's not critical. Our security department will contact you if it's necessary but the system will not block you.

It seems to happen to me a lot also. Maybe I only notice it when I'm in a big hand, but yes. Ironically it seems to happen at the worst times. I notice it the most when I'm running a table, tilting everyone, and they keep trying to go over the top when I'm running Inferno Hot. AA flop a set, no draw, I bet, they raise, I go to shove for the last 25% of their stack..... Disconnected. Happend more then once.

It has happpened to me too! Usually it happens when you use data and the solution is to go to flight mode and open the data again and try to stay in areas with strong signal. It can also happen with wifi but very rarely, only if something serious has happened like a storm. It has happened to me in the cardschat freeroll final table and in another tournament with chips when two of us where left. In both cases it was with data and it ment end of game!

Just calm down)))You couldn’t influence on this situation. Just try to think that it was more important for another player to win in that game-that’s why some forces interrupted the process. And you will win in another game.

Loss of INET

Oh yes, the drama it does create. It's that next to losing on an AA feeling you get. Yes, it has happened to me as well. I have noticed that Intertops gives a player additional time-out if they lose connection.

ACR does that too. Not sure if it is 90 seconds tho.

tell me about it. i had quad 6's and theres all kinds of high cards on the board. i didnt go all in when the bet came too me because i wanted other people to call too. i called and watched the whole table go all in. i have about 2,000 chips left. i see the last card, see that i have the nuts and when this guy bets his last 15 chips , yes 15 chips , my internet goes out and i cant call the bet. now on my screen when the internet goes out your time clock just runs down and all the icons ore on the screen. i must have pushed the call button a thousand times before i watched the computer fold my hand. i was soooo drunk after that. i still had 2,000 in chips but i had at least 40,000 in the pot. the pot had a little more than 200,000 chips in it. that killed me. it was late in thr tournament too. blinds were way more than my 2,000.

you know what, i dont even want to talk about it anymore.

I have two devices for the client is a mobile and a laptop and two Internet providers it sometimes saves from sudden communication losses at important stages in the tournament.

connection

I live in hotels for eight months a year for my construction job .Some of them have horrible service so I am restricted to playing 2-4 tables of one and two dollar buy in tournaments to minimize the losses when it disconnects every ten minutes.

Concerning IP addresses, you are a good example of IPs bouncing around to different locations. Different internet providers too. Have you ever had any security warnings?

Change your ISP! In the future, this can happen in a more important tournament!
