How do you feel about insults in chat?

You have to indulge into the toxic chats, you can make them loose their cool and trap them, that's if you are in a situation with a good hand and want to go all in or something.

Fortunately, you can turn it off on most sites, so you don't have to deal with them.
He may be more bothered by you not responding to him than by you speaking back, so it might even be an advantage.

In the past i used to chat. Not anymore . So i don't read comments . I'm here to play. Not to communicate with keyboard warriors .

They're certainly entertaining. They're pretty good for my game. I also don't chat. The guy doing all the chatting today went from table chip leader comfortably going to at least min cash to busted out without making the money with only 10 players left before the money. Was yapping for 30 mins....telling us how good he was while not paying attention, being cocky and playing way too many hands. It was pretty great to watch.

How do you feel about insults in chat?

In general, I try not to pay attention to insults because I understand that my opponent wants to irritate me with these insults so that I start making mistakes. I think ignoring such players is the best solution.

i love a good needle, but many of the 'sophisticated' regs + moderators frown on it . try ACR if you really want antiseptic poker ......yeah , not much fun at all .

A deliberate unwarranted insult is never justifiable. If you can't use logic to explain your grievance like an intelligent adult. I assume your over compensating in an attempt to mask some insecurity you have. In poker I assume that it's your inability to play poker well.

In my experience the ones who are talking smack in an attempt to tilt other players are extremely thin skinned. If you can counter their remarks cleverly, while not stooping to their level. They tilt rather easily.

When I first started playing poker online. I would do this anytime someone started acting this way at a table. Regardless of whom it was directed at. Being as I really enjoy a good "debate".

I'll be honest, it really does affect me a lot. Sometimes it even affects me so much that I can start playing worse: bluffing rashly or calling all raises on pre-flop. I believe there should be mutual respect at the poker table!

I used to chat, but that site went out of business. My site now, you can't chat. But when I could chat, I would usually turn oit off. Chat is one more way of getting distracted from you point of emphasis, playing winning poker strategy and reactions to other's moves.

I don’t respond to trolls anymore. However, there was one time a troll kept provoking me until I finally shared my opinion and laughed at him. He immediately took a screenshot, found me here on CardsChat, and tried to embarrass me by posting something like, “Does anyone know this player? He’s insulting me.” Luckily, the moderators sorted it out quickly and deleted his post.

I think you have to learn to live with them, I don't think that's the right thing to do but you don't have to lose focus because of someone who insults you.
