Yo be honest probably nothing over $500. If I played big tournaments like the Sunday million then I would consider it but the phone does for now

Poker software is generally pretty basic to look at but I am finding clients are becoming more and more CPU intensive. Does you machine struggle running multiple games?
The laptop doesn't have to be very powerful ... I use a 5 year old laptop and everything runs wonderfully on it!

One table and just playing poker doesn't need much power at all ($3-500)

If you are going to muti table, stream or Twitch and zoom at the same time, don't skimp. You also may at some time want to use an exterior monitor or even your big screen TV so make sure it has hte power and features to do what you want.

I use a regular tablet. Work very well. You can go to the toilet, go out into the yard or eat in the kitchen without distracting from the game.

Poker Software does not require a high end laptop. Anything that it pretty recent will do. Maybe also consider what else you will do with the laptop. Because Poker is probably the less intesive use even if playing 4 tables at the same time. But maybe consider how many screens you can attach for more screen size.

It all depends on How seriously you want to play? Any laptop would do if you only wanted to play one game at a time, But if you need to multi-table I would recommend getting a decent tower system with 2 or 3 monitors I managed fine on my old tower system to play 4 games at once but found it would struggle with more than 4 tables open, But I am not that serious anymore, and prefer to play at my own pace playing one game at a time,
Poker is just a hobby for me and I use it to relax and a little enjoyment. Winning or losing really does not matter that much, It is all about how I play and beating other players, the money I win only helps to pay for my losing days and bad beats I sometimes suffer from. But hey! that's Poker!

When the fun Stops, STOP!

As usual, they answer is "it depends" . How many tables, how many different sites open at same time? When I have P-StarsPA open with ACR and BOL my processor is working pretty hard, I am using, a laptop with a Intel CORE I5 5200U @2.20 , it is getting old but it can handle all the poker I play. I do not run SIMS. I am in the process of building a new system. I have not made up my mind if I am going to invest in PIO solver, if I do that I will need a much better processor and will build a desktop. BUT if you need a laptop just to play poker , any mid-level laptop, just go up 1 level from the cheapest tier and you should be OK, VERY IMPORTANT - Get a minimum of 8GBs of RAM, this will keep you from lagging behind. Many discount stores Best Buy ..... will offer 4Gb of RAM, try to find 8GB EDIT: Also, I did not even address monitors, this depends on your eyes and what you are comfortable with, I have 2 32" monitors besides the laptop screen, but I have old eyes LOL

I have a core i7 laptop. I think a laptop doesn't have to be strong and of high quality. the main thing is that the screen is bigger.

I prefer the laptop. I can play anywhere, in addition to having all my studies and work in it. The Asus Proart XeonE2276M 17 "would be the perfect laptop for me. It costs an average of USD 10,000.00

Hello. This is a good question. It made me think about that. I have been reading some Blackrain articles. He has some good ideas. What I would need is a system that will have the speed and a monitor that will fit 9 tables.

You only need it if you already make a living from it. Anyway, any medium laptop will suffice.

Depends on what „for poker“ means...

If you only Play 1or 2 rournaments at a time on one room you can use a pretty cheap one.

If you think about multitableing with 16 Tables on 4 Rooms and run a HUD on all of them you should rather Go for a pretty expensive one.

Wow, what are you running?

I have an old hp with a 3rd gen i5 (only 2 cores) and the problem I have is I run out of room for tables, not performance. Only paid 25.00 at auction.

I wouldn't pay more than 100.00 on ebay.

Finally bit the bullet with an i7 16 GB ram laptop. More than I need for Poker and was temporarily running an i5 but would hate to be in an expensive game and it get overloaded although if in very pricey games I do not play as many tables.

Still the faster boots should help me stop missing CC game :)
