Hi everyone,

I’m curious how more experienced players would approach building a bankroll starting with just $100.

Would you focus on low-stakes MTTs, Sit & Go’s, or cash games? I’m trying to find the best balance between minimizing risk and still making steady progress.

Also, what kind of bankroll management would you recommend at this level? For example, what buy-in range would you stick to, and when would you move up in stakes?

Do you think it’s better to grind small consistently, or take occasional shots at higher buy-ins?

I’d really appreciate hearing different strategies and what has worked for you.

Thanks in advance and good luck at the tables!

Hello. I'm far from an expert, but if I wanted to start playing constantly with a $100 fund, I would play tournaments or sit and go for 1 or 2 dollars. And if I wanted to play cash tables I would play 3 or 4 tables at a time at the lowest level, which I think is 0.01 -0.02

What's worked for me is playing satellites for $5.50, $11, $16.60, or even $22 tournaments, which cost less than $1.50. I usually win tickets and play these tournaments that way. If you're just starting out, play freerolls or tournaments under $3.30. That way, you'll gradually build your bankroll. My advice is, don't risk your money if you've been trying to make money this way for a long time. It takes time, but above all, talent to get results.

Pozdrav.
Thanks for the advice!
I don't prefer sit & go games; I believe that luck is a key factor in winning these tournaments, while knowledge and skill don't really come to the fore. I also don't think I would play well at four cash tables at the same time because I don't have enough time to analyze players and current hands.

Thanks for the advice!
Investing in satellite tournaments seems like a good idea to me, I like to play satellites. The only thing I don't like about satellites is that they are generally faster or hyper satellites, and the blinds go up every 5 or 3 minutes.

Start small.. stay disciplined, and only move up when your bankroll can comfortably handle the swings .. sit & Gi n cash game I recommend.

Or play tournaments with prizes under $3.30. Sure, there are more people and you play for hours, but the winnings are small in my opinion. That's why I prefer playing on satellites during the winter.

I currently play most of the time on 888 poker. My tip has already been mentioned above: invest in tickets. If you play on 888poker, start with 10 cent tickets to win $1 tickets. Set a goal and gradually increase the amounts according to your winnings. With this simple strategy, you can multiply your winnings by 10, winning theoretically easier games. Good luck on your journey!

How big should the buy in be? Do you mean a minimum bet of 1-2 cents?

Either SnGs or cash games. MTTs have to high variance and require to much time commitment, when you are playing with a small bankroll like $100. And also rather importantly: Use bankroll management, so dont listen to people suggesting you, its a good idea to play satellites. Thats gambling or having fun, its not bankroll building. With $100 you should limit yourself to either 2NL-5NL cash games or $1-2 SnGs. Best of luck.

I play freeroll until I have 200$. After, I play low stakes sit and go because luck is less present than tournaments.

With a bankroll that size, I'd play tournaments with a maximum buy-in of $2, as well as spins. But you should play the format you feel most comfortable with and that yields the highest profits.

Ili SnG-ovi ili igre za gotovinu. MTT-ovi imaju visoku varijancu i zahtijevaju previše vremena kada igrate s malim bankrollom poput 100 dolara. Sretno.
Thanks for the suggestion!
This sounds like good advice to me. The only problem is that I mostly play at GG Poker and have not noticed that SnG tournaments are held on GG Poker.

How long does it take you to collect $200 playing free rolls?
It seems to me that you need steel discipline to play only free roll, and you have, say, 120 dollars in your account. If you can do that, I admire you and you have my respect.
