I'd say it was safer to play on-line, if you think of what happened to Wild Bill Hickok.

I would be worried about leaving a casino with a lot of winnings. I would ask to be escorted out by security.

I have played both online and live fairly regularly and the biggest difference I have encountered is online players using additional software to get an edge, as well in live games at times it is difficult to do the math as your time to play is limited, all in all I do prefer live games over online but playing from home is enjoyable...

Hello, I think that live poker is much safer. Despite the facts that we all know. than online poker because online I have seen impossible odds many more times than live. When the soft wants to take you out, it sends you AA to lose all in against any junk hand. And that's what they call variance or invention to justify that your hands are Type the soft. and already designate who wins and who doesn't. The one who does the most that is pokerstars

I know countries where it’s not safe to walk outside, never mind playing poker 😂 safe is a very relative word and really depends on who you are and how you approach danger. Being safe is an illusion of a negative projection.

Online is pretty safe in my opinion, especially at lower stakes on reputable sites. Difficult to see anyone bothering to cheat you at 10NL! And not obvious how it would be possible other than players colluding at same table as RTA wouldn't work at lower stakes. Not played live, but expect it's relatively safe at low stakes but the higher up yougo the more likely there will be some cheating

I don't think that any poker game is "safe enough" in context of loosing your money. You can play with people you 1000% trust and loose it all, just like in online game and I don't think it depends that much on cheating you know ;). Of course it would be safer from any point of view to play in a "trusted" place whether online or live.

Now I only play online, but I used to go to the casino offline. It's an interesting atmosphere when you come at 8 pm and leave at 9 am. When I played it was safe, but often there was a problem after winning I couldn't go home. I was pressured that I was doing an ugly thing by winning and going to leave. And in most cases I stayed and lost my pot..

Live poker is way more secure for many reasons I find it laughable that anybody can think otherwise without an agenda. Actual cards you can see being dealt by an actual person rather than some jackanory number generator. Cameras everywhere, even the other players observing things makes the game more secure. Anywhere cash is you can guarantee cheats will be near with their beady little eyes so nowhere is ruled out, but you can't have Stealth Observer Live that is for sure.

I’ve never played live but I feel like it’s probably very comparable between the two options for cheating just in different way I guess. I wouldn’t say one is safer than the other though. Just play what you’re comfortable playing.

I think it doesn't matter,

if someone is going to cheat you, you're going to be unlucky and it's going to fall on you.

Both the live dealer can shuffle the cards as he sees fit and the online poker operator can deliberately write the software to play for him.
It is worthwhile, as someone wrote, to play in poker rooms that have a good reputation.

Both modalities are safe, now there are many poker rooms that are large and offer a lot of security for your account and your funds, they have a transparent game, before registering in a room you should see their game policy.

I think it's much easier to play online because your opponents don't see your emotions.

Pokerstars
Partypoker
GGPoker
A.C.R.
888Poker
BlackChipPoker
& maybe SportsBetting, TitanPoker (< although I know that Titan is not doing anything about their BOT situation but the site is mostly micro stakes these days & SB I'm not sure how quickly they payout WD's)

I only play online because it's the most convenient way for me to play. I play only with the money I managed to win in freerolls, so I don't worry about my accounts, especially since I play only on the most popular and time-tested sites.

in both cases, there is a risk. To protect yourself, choose safe rooms.

Those who want to play poker need to get to the table first. To do this live, you have to try. You need to find out where you have a poker club or casino nearby. Be prepared that their address may be far from your home. And by the way, gambling is not legal everywhere. But even if everything is legal, then you will have to adapt to the casino's work schedule, wait for the players to gather at your table. You can, of course, just invite your friends home to play, but that's a completely different story - you won't earn money that way. It's much easier to get to the online poker table, and here's why: The service works around the clock - you can play at any convenient time, for example, in the evening after work , weekends or even just lunch breaks. Games are available from a PC or smartphone, registration will take a few minutes, and then a couple of clicks - and you are already at the table.
