What is a good pc config to play poker?

I don't have a setup yet, so I play multi table in a notebook and if it doesn't keep the performance, then I add my phone as well...

I play only using my phone, and it works just fine for me — no issues at all. So I’d say you definitely don’t need a powerful PC to play poker, unless you’re running a lot of tracking software or multi-tabling heavily. For most players, even a basic device gets the job done smoothly.

I'm curious, what is 'play poker' to 'most players' ? Because it seems some on here would think that means >> playing one tourney on one site.

I've got a couple of older 4th gen Intel computers I'm using (one with an i7, 32GB Ram a GPU and an SSD). It's not fast(powerful) enough for me for when I'm 'playing poker'.

I live in Ukraine, and here you can buy a pretty good PC for $100. For poker, watching movies, or working, such a PC is more than enough. A normal monitor is another $50.

I think every decent laptop is ok to play poker.
Event cheap ones have decent configurations which is enough to play

I bought the Ryzen 5600GT! A 24-inch 100Hz monitor and a 512GB M.2.
I have never seen such a fast PC in front of me. Hahaha...
My old one is a 2011 i3 notebook, so it was a shock when I turned it on and tried to get up to make a coffee as usual with the i3.
I barely got up and everything was already open. Amazing!
I'm installing and configuring everything, and I think I'll be back to the grind tomorrow or Saturday.

Congrats! How did it go? I'd need to upgrade my GPU, not urgent but some day.

If you have not enough budget, just try to buy a cheap USB cooler and put it under your laptop or if you have a PC then just buy a faster cooler. It really does help especially because a more expensive CPU wont solve the issue we all have, thats the horrible programmed PokerSoftware.

I used to play poker simultaneously on three different devices: a smartphone, a laptop, and a PC. It was fun. Nowadays, I only play on PC using two 32-inch Samsung monitors.

I think any modern PC can handle poker rooms — they’re not high-performance games after all.
Personally, I’ve had issues with PokerStars, but that’s more about Chrome.
If I have Chrome open while playing, my system sometimes freezes.
But I don’t think it’s a common issue — although I’ve seen a few posts here from people with similar problems.

A computer should be chosen for more than just poker. Computer games help me, for example, after failing tournaments. That's why the RAM should be no less than 16 GB, and I advise the legendary NVIDIA RTX 3060 video card. Also the display should be wide enough for multitabling.

i play on a hp laptop i got from walmart for 240 bucks... and it runs one site with as mant tables as i want without a problem at all, but however if i was gonna run multiple site at one time and use facebook and watch streamers, and do all that jazz, id prolly buy like a gaming laptop, or get a pro set up, and do it the real way, but it seems to work good on my laptop, i really bought the laptop just for poker.,. i run pokertracker4 and play on acr, with no problem at all the cpu really aint never even showed a stress so id say it dont matter, what does matter is connection, really more important these days, when concerning poker.

Poker rooms, even when used together, tend to require little from a machine. My GPU (onboard) is barely in use with some of the main rooms open.
The exceptions are ggpoker (a little heavier gradually) and wpt global (which, by the way, looks like it's mining on your PC).
You can run it at minimum resolutions and without animations, which will require even less of a setup.

I run a configuration with a Ryzen 4600G.
16gb RAM
Without a dedicated video card.
I use two monitors without any problems.

Parts here in Brazil have become expensive again, so it all depends on the available budget and your region...

Cities like Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo have computer centers with slightly better prices than in the big stores.
Other than that, everything is in the same price range.

How much do you have available to spend?
Do you also need a monitor?

I agree, wpt global is simply destroying my laptop's battery, this is the first time I've encountered such a poker client, there's something suspicious about it, because there are no special graphics there.

It depends , if you just want to play poker pretty much any setup will do it but if you want to study and run sims on solvers you will need more ram or you can borrow computing power online
