Its good to familiarize yourself with many styles. For example Negreanu's small ball poker, Harringtons starting
hands chart and Esfandiari's aggressiveness would all be different.
If you are playing tournaments, realizing that all 3 of these can work, but that you can change up your play style depending on what stage of the tournament you are in or who you are playing against, it wont hurt you.
For me, im the opposite of Esfandiari at the early stages of tournaments, i usually stick to premium hands. However, if i find that its a table that sees lots of multi way pots, alot of callers, ill switch it up and play small ball.
Once i have a stack that i can do something with, and ive built up a rep at the tables as someone who is tight or someone who doesn't go nuts its easier for me to make some moves.
