The beginning of the end. One day that day would come, now is to continue with sports betting and the casino and finish gradually with poker, you like it or not, this is the direction of PS.

I am really interested in seeing what Daniel has to say about "things", is he really making a full split from PokerStars?? Was being an ambassador his only ties to "Stars"?? I watched his youtube video, the video is announcing his packages that he is selling for wsop this summer. About 10 minutes into the video, he talks about his "split", he says it was a friendly end to a wonderful relationship with "Stars". I guess we have to take him at his word??

Anyway, Daniel , definitely can influence the poker world, i would like to see him use his platform to advocate for the players a little more, I mean the poker pro's, we know that site owner's are doing their best to make the games more of a gamble, in order to draw in the recreational players but I think the sites can do that and offer some incentives for the volume players. I would like to hear other opinions on Daniel.

I hope that this decision Daniel took himself at ease and PokerStars did not force him to do it.

Im surprised he left, didn’t think he’d ever leave. He’s still going to be playing tournaments so I don’t think much will change for fans. I wonder if this has anything more to it than just him being married and starting his future...

Sad to hear this , he helped them a lot all these years , I was sure all would leave Daniel would stay for ever - guess I was wrong . I am sure he will find a new pokerroom to join forces . Maybe PartyPoker ??? , it would be one more defeat for PokerStars .
Wishing him good luck for the new adventure that now begins :)

Negreanu is a whole era of poker stars,a figure in the world of poker,a man with titles and a name that any poker lover knows! Everything passes, probably and naturally, that the era of Negreanu will sink into Oblivion! Very sorry!!!

It'll be interesting to see what he does next. So many people have left PokerStars for PartyPoker due to the better rakeback: PS' effective rakeback for winning players is only about 16% - and that was before they reduced the points generated for tournaments - whereas PartyPoker will give them up to 40% (or sometimes even 50%). PokerStars, in my opinion, if focusing too much on losing players (which is a smart business decision, I'll admit) and as a result is losing a lot of their image.

It's sad but this is his choice. He just married and I think he wants to spend his time with family.

Its sad to hear that one of the best poker players leaves the platform you're playing :). But instead of making it a sad moment lets share some of his best clips/videos :)

A great professional, it is not yet known which real motive to be who deserves all the respect in their actions. I believe he will follow another one in a new project, wait more, I think there are new things out there !!!

Quite surprised but also pleased for him; it shows that he isn't just a puppet and mouthpiece in PS's pocket as lots of people have accused.

Although it was a controversial comment, as with anything, there ARE good sides to a higher rake as well as bad. It's typical of the growing internet culture to try and tar & feather people for any tiny, individual comment or action. Some people need to grow & wake up!

Love him or hate him he has been a fine ambassador for pokerstars and poker in general, but today D-Negs has announced he will be leaving stars behind after 12 years.

What are your thoughts on Daniel?

Let someone else take up the mantle for the next 12 years.
He should be in the HOF.

I wonder if he will say something like "more rake is better" in the future? And will he be at PartyPoker? :secruity:

I think it'd be really bad for business if Partypoker brought him onboard.

More on this: he was never a winning player online anyway. Correct me if I am wrong. What does that tell us about Poker Stars?
https://www.highstakesdb.com/profiles/pokerstars/KidPoker.aspx

It tells us that Daniel doesn't specialize in online cash game play... because he's way outclassed in that field. Awhile back there was debate on whether or not D-Negs could be competitive vs. 50nl regs. online and the general consensus was that he wasn't.

What do you think it's telling us about Pokerstars? (you can tell us what you think & I'll correct you if I think you're wrong.... ok?)

Well after Daniel leaving PS, Lex is Pokerstars last big name who constantly brings new people to the site. If Lex leaves PS then i think it will be beginning of the end in terms of their dominations in the industry.

Wow, this is sad news, but it's great that he is on to something bigger and better. Even though he is not with Stars, I hope that he stays involved with the poker community, or does this mean that he will soon be done with poker?

Looking forward to his WSOP vlog, and I hope he keeps up his blog as well. I thought he had some insightful post so I linked it below.

in last few years majority of pros left Stars because PS is no more PS we knew... but there is a question posted above Why does it matter if he is at Stars or not?
