ESPN is going to air the world series of poker this year! I feel it’s a big win for fans. Also I think many years ago it helped the poker boom for a generation . Thoughts?

The only bad thing is that PokerGO basically aired the entire Main Event plus other events. ESPN will probably only do the Main Event and not have every hand at the featured tables.

But I'm glad I won't have to subscribe to PokerGO this year.

I hope they bring the old coverage format. No more livestreams until the final table

Looking forward to seeing my fellow classmate Norman Chad again. He wrote funny articles for the school paper at Maryland when I was there.

So glad to hear that. Very few people pay subscriptions to PokerGo. Why would amateur players pay when there is so much free content available to watch on the internet? I find if more people have access to free poker content they will become interested in poker and it will help the game attract new players and grow.

For sure this is good as it will make WSOP MnEvent poker viewing available to people who would otherwise not even know how or where to watch it.
I wonder who they will have for commentating. I hope they're able to use Ali Nejad paired with Nick Schulman... 'The Night Shift'. Arguably the best commentators in the business.
FWIW, I think PokerGO is still excellent value. Last year's was great! Jared Bleznick's commentating during the Mixed Games Events was without parallel! So much amazing info. Hopefully they'll get him in there again this year.

Because it's an event (a series of Events) happening in real time & it can be quite exciting at times.

I am on the other side of this one. I think its not a good idea at all. If the mixed the 2 it would be better. While i think its great ESPN will have the WSOP we don't have ESPN and i am not going to pay to get it. Poker go at least had a lot going for it. For me and where i live this is another good reason to finally give up the game i love. And 1 think i can say is I am very close to stopping playing.Going to miss all those side events we have been getting on poker go.
