I'm not sure why. Let's assume the debt to them is legit & every court in the land would uphold it, then every dollar he wins at wsop (& the marshal takes) is one less dollar he has to pay out of his other assets. Given that, I'd think he'd be incented to play where was most profitable for him.
Unless:
- You think his true motive is to skip out on the debt, and then he'd want to play where a court wouldn't seize his winnings; or
- He relies on backer funding his buy-ins so that they might be nervous they wouldn't collect on the winnings.
