"The Queen's Gambit" for Poker: A Film That Will Revolutionize the Industry.

I'm with Mario7 on this. Having signed up to countless Facebook poker groups, all with more than a thousand members, and logged details of numerous live tournaments for the newsletter I write, I'm starting to find this talk of poker's declining popularity quite ludicrous.
The Moneymaker effect was the stimulus but the game is now in a period of consolidation. You see the same pattern repeated with many new products that come to market. Some of them, of course, disappear without trace but poker is here to stay.
And talk of our 'Drive to Survive' moment --the notional Netflix show that will see poker reborn -- reminds me of the old proverb, 'Beware of what you want, for you will get it.'
Netflix also made a PGA Tour documentary. For examples of the 'wider audience' it attracted, I'd refer you to last weekend's Ryder Cup.

As a chess player, I liked Queen's Gambit. I don't know if the poker audience would have a similar popularity for a poker show though. At least for me, my "poker movie" is Rounders
