Anyway, Croatian government decided to ban 888poker for some "tax violation" reason.

This means, that if you open www.888poker.com website from anywhere in croatia you'll see ugly tax webpage with notice...

But!

I've found a workaround.
If you change DNS settings of your network adapter /or router to 1.1.1.1 or 1.0.0.1 ( Cloudflare ) , you can connect easily :) and continue playing!

I am back babyyyyy

Well that's useful, if someday something similar happens to me.

I tried google-ing this problem to see if there is any workaround and I couldn't find anything!
So, I had stopped playing online poker for a couple of months and was sad as I had invested so much time in 888 poker, as they have great freerolls. I felt miserable.
Until one day I just happened to stumble upon some thread on fb where they had been discussing this.

I would urge caution.

Be sure to identify the exact wording of the "ban". You could get yourself into very hot water if site should be unavailable to you or you may have difficulty getting your money withdrawn.

Little good is likely to come of the work-around.

Cheers,

Unfortunately, 888 left the Serbian market at the beginning of the year for the same reason

I have always wondered who are these "countryless" or "flagless" players on 888 poker. Are they playing from one of the countries which prohibited their citizens to play on 888 poker? Because I've seen players without a flag/country only in this room :rolleyes:

I doubt this is the case considering we can also only play there illegally and i doubt our country is hided there ...
Whether or not you've put more focus to Cardchat 888 games then even there you'd see well-known members who seem to be "countryless" - for example from european countries Holland & Montenegro seem to share that fate ...
Probably some others aswell ...

You're right - I must've never payed enough attention to the CC freeroll to notice there were such players there as well. Could then find out what countries they're from.

But still it's unclear for me why they have their country unspecified and what's the reason behind it.

Used Dr Google help and found this 888rep post in 2+2 from 2018 (not sure whether it helps) ...

Regarding the countries flags,
Some members have older software versions and for some smaller countries we don’t have individual flags.

If you use VPN to wide your location from a poker site, you are breaking the TOS, and you risk having your account closed and all funds confiscated. When 888 Poker left the croatian market, they surely send notice to players about this and instructed you how to withdraw your funds? Croatia is a regulated market, and if 888 Poker lost their license to operate there, I am sure, they dont want you to still be playing at their site.

888 has not left croatian market. Our govermant decided to tax them, and as they haven't filled up necessary paperwork, they banned their domain.

I had asked 888 explicitly about the fund withdrawals. They said that there won't be any problems with withdrawals' , of course if there will be any.
