PokerStars chests and rake back, when is it going to change?

Today I completed a blue chest, my last ones were 800 points to complete which is $8 dollars of rake.

This last one was 2800 though, it took me almost a month to complete it and today I opened it to get 10 star coins and two 0.25 spin and go ticket

So let me see if I got this straight, I pay $28 dollars of rake to get 0.60c back? This is an incredible rake back of 2%!!

I know you might say there's a lot of promotions, free tickets on twitter, freeroll etc. But this rake system is so annoying and I don't ever feel like I want to complete it. It's not worth.

Its likely never going to change at least not for the better. My advice is to focus on winning money at the tables, and how much rake you pay in the first place. And if you can find a better offer on another site, then just play there.

The GGPoker system is much better - I get a flat rate cashback (rakeback) every week:

However, I play mostly at Pokerstars because that is where so many Cardschat games are hosted.

I agree with you guys, it's not even worth paying attention to their scum scheme, it's so ridiculous. You play and accumulate those points not knowing what you are going to get, and when you finally open that damn chest, sometimes it's so disappointing, and even when it's not, you get a spin&go ticket, a 3 minutes worth of pure gambling for absolutely nothing or a ticket to that bullshit progressive rewards.
It's been a while now that Pokerstars don't give a shit about their players, taking them for granted, but they will regret it sooner or later. There's some serious competition going on right now. For starters, GGpoker only needs to fix some bugs and we'll witness a real migration...

Pokerstars is the worst site currently for rake and lack of rewards in my opinion to much volume is required to get something reasonable back compared to other sites I do not bother trying even.

Not going to change until you play elsewhere in my opinion.
I only play CardsChat freerolls there in 6 months at least you can withdraw freeroll winnings straight away though on a positive note.

Find a poker site that you really like and just focus on the poker part of it only. Then consider the diddly little prizes you get as the tiny extras they truly then there’s no disappointment. I really don’t think they are ever going to increase the value and will probably only ever decrease in value as they change the rewards programs over time.

Rakeback is pretty bad on stars, cash games are better to play on other sites but stars offers the best mtt's so thats why most players stick to stars in my opinion.

I also was disapponted when I had payed so much in rake , more than 20$ nd I got some free spins that din't pay out anything , also 10 starcoins ,lol . it was a great disappointment cause all this rake was from casino games where I lost hundreds of $$$$ , so a rakeback of 60 cents made me furious . I decided to be excluded from their casino or sports games for lifetime I play only poker there now .

But other players , who have a great volume of poker games there , they can accumulate points fast , and get many and bigger chests sooner that players like me .

Exactly. The rake structure or reward system on Stars is not going to change, because people complain about it in poker forums. The only thing, that might influence their decisions, is if people actually wote with their feet.

Even staying on Stars we can do that by selecting games, that are fairly raked. If we play cash games, then avoid Zoom and only play regular tables, when we find soft tables. If we play SnGs then avoid the turbos and hyper turbos, so we get more for our rake money. If we play with a small bankroll, then play the 45-180 man SnGs rather than the 6-18 man, which for whatever reason have higher rake, until we get to the 7$ level.

As for MTTs, they have 20% more rake on Stars than elsewhere up to the 16,5$ level. If we are unhappy about this, then play MTTs somewhere else. And if we still play on Stars, then dont complain about it, as we knew already, we were paying those 20% more, and nobody forced us.

As for the chests just forget them. After I moved to Sweden, I dont even get them, and I honestly dont miss them. Winning a ticket for the weekly freerool or a 10c tournament ticket is almost just a distraction from your normal games, because you might feel kind of obliged to use it. So maybe just let the chests pile up, until you have 5 or 10 of them, and dont even bother before that. Focus on your game and not all this reward circus, which we all know is ridiculous anyway. Its basically like feeding the dog with its own tail

Pokerstars gives me chests for free, because I play roulette on weekends and I don’t need to collect any points, just play at least 1 spin a day in roulette and it suits me for their gifts.

I just went to GGpoker. The software is great and RB as well.

BUT!!! You will pay quite a lot of rake on GG, cannot use HUDs and the amount of Rake they will count towards rewards is different per player.

STILL A better deal than Twilight...i mean Stars...

This is not a rakeback system, it is a parody of a loyalty system. Absolutely useless, but beautiful

The PokerStars reward system will never change as long as players chase rewards and chests. It's a vicious circle. The more you try to gain, the more you can lose. It is much more important to focus on your own game and have fun.

Now that they have increased the requirements to open a chest the Deal jackpot goes up slower since many players like myself do not have coins to play. Pokerstars would not be giving out nearly as much money in that minigame as they used to.

You're right, I guess this just not going to change, I'll just pretend the chests doesn't exist because it's almost like it doesn't for real.

My Bankroll is almost entire on GG now and I've been playing more there then on PokerStars, even though I can't get the rake back yet because I don't volume that much I feel much better just to pay less rake and get things more clearly.

Don't get me wrong I'm not crazy about wanting to get chests and 'free' stuff, I just don't want to feel like an idiot when I click to open a chest like that

Pokerstars is not the best room to have a big rakeback. They had a n1 rakeback in past, but right now it,s only chests, which usually gives only couple of starcoins, or some tickets for freerolls. If you are looking for a better rakeback, better to look for another rooms. And also i don,t think, that they have so good promotions right now. Check other rooms and you will see better promotions in another rooms.

the exclusive poker challenge... that one is annoying aswell only completed it 1 time

after that not one more completed takes ages
or bigger buy-ins but thats also not smart to do not gonna risk 1000$+ for just 40$ cash... wish they changed it back to the old rakeback cause the chests are also useless
